Wouldn't that be "voicing" the role of Ultron?

I might be ok with this.

1. I doubt it will be more than a voice roll.
2. I have faith in Whedon.
3. Fark Ben Affleck.

Wait, I thought Jarvis was going to turn in to Ultron, and he's already voiced by Paul Bettany.

That was a completely fabricated internet fan fiction guess.

Tracy Ultron?

I don't know what an Ulton is but he's a smarmy prick, it could be perfect casting.

I'd say then use Jamie Gertz for Jocasta but that accent would kill it.

Truth be known, the person I'd like to see in the role of a super-villain is Bob Newhart.

He's not scary nor threatening, but those villain monologue scenes would be epic.

At the end, we see the title reveal - and Iron Man's mask has become Ultron's grinning, fang-like metallic skull.

That has led to a lot of speculation that Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark, no slouch in the Research & Development field for new technology, may be rewritten as the creator of Ultron, whose mission is to eradicate organic life from Earth and replace it with his own mechanical offspring.

That could work but I wish they wouldn't.  Ultron's programming is patterned on Pym's mind and carries his various psychological flaws.  And while Tony has his own, I don't think it would lend itself as well to the classic Oedipal mold.

The other issue with making Stark the creator is we just got our IM3 movie with no mention of this and there is not another one scheduled before Avengers 2, like the Ant Man movie.  I understand wanting to use Ultron but at least do SOMETHING to set it up.  Unless they are going to use GotG to set it up and make some alien the creator of Ultron as opposed to Pym.

As it stands we will likely get a long flashback in Avengers 2 showing how Stark created Ultron as one of his suits and it went crazy.  Kind of a Venom/Spiderman thing.

They could always go with the route that Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes took with Ultron. The downside is that it turns Ultron more into a Sentinel: it realizes that organic life is flawed and needs to be eliminated/controlled. Also, it would be one more failure put on Tony's shoulders is he's the inventor. Which could force him towards the 'Demon In A Bottle' storyline, but that's another subject.

one version was Jocasta.

Ultron likes to upgrade himself regularly and the old versions are left behind.  One version of himself was Jocasta who was a hero, I believe.

James Spader as Ultron
Molly Ringwald as Black widow
Anthony Michael Hall as Hawkeye
Jon Cryer as Bruce Banner

I dunno about smarmy, but his whole deal is the extermination of organic life. Plus he's got an Oedipus complex. So yeah this is pretty solid casting.

"In footage shown at Comic-Con in July to announce the title and reveal Ultron as the new villain, it begins with a close-up of what appears to be Iron Man's mask. We hear various lines from the assorted Avengers that were spoken in previous Marvel movies. As they bicker, the Iron Man helmet revolves and is pulverized by an unseen force."

Where is this? YouTube has failed me...

I dunno, Ultron seems a bit too high of a profile character to set up in GotG since most people that aren't comic nerds wouldn't even know that they're in the same universe as the other Marvel movies. I do think Ultron is going to end up being retconned as a suit Tony makes to be fully autonomous similar to all the armors he had flying around in IM3, but the AI goes bad or something. 5 bucks says we'll see the clip of him working on or unveiling Ultron in either the Thor 2 or Winter Soldier after credits scene.

You're right, subby.Affleck voicing a CGI Batman would be miles better than the shiat-performance he's gonna put on instead.

Although, if you were going through that trouble, why not just get Kevin Conroy?

/I think Spader's voice is a good choice. Looking forward to that sequel

Jocasta wasn't Ultron. She was built by Ultron and patterned after Wasp's mind. Then it gets creepy. And I don't just mean this picture.

Although at least, being a robot, that pose isn't a complete mockery of human anatomy.

How many more times is RDJ contracted to play Iron Man? Just have Iron Man die, Jarvis freak out become Ultron.
