(Reason Magazine)   First they came for stinky cigarettes. I did not like the stink, so I said nothing. Then they came for e-cigarettes. I don't care because...they look stupid anyway   (reason.com) divider line 212

BuckTurgidson: I'll say it again:

Someone smoking an "e-cigarette" is as pathetic as someone smoking through their trach-hole.

/"It's time we take our FREEDOM back!" LOL

It's funny, before I tried one I thought the same thing. After I started using one, it's amazing the difference in reactions you get out in public versus the reactions you get as a smoker. They are conversation starters and most people are extremely positive about them. In my town, I see two or three people using an ecig for every cigarette smoker I see. They're getting more and more popular, especially since the local university campus banned smoking on campus, but exempts vaping except in classrooms where the profs specifically forbid them. It's a brave new world man, with shiny new nicotine delivery devices. Deal with it.

Do you know what's awesome?

Well, I will tell you: Cocaine + Marlborough Lights. That's what's awesome.

I'll bet Cocaine + e-cig-nicotine is not too far back on the awesome, YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME scale.

I never mentioned cancer, by the way.

Considering tracheotomies are associated with throat cancer from smoking, I'd say you did.

Smoke up. Inhale deeply. Hold it in and let it suffuse through you. Don't let anyone convince there could ever be a problem with this.

They don't create smoke, therefore it isn't smoking.  Personally, I'm vaping without nicotine and hope to quit, but you seem to have the idea that nicotine is what makes cigarettes bad for you, and that is incorrect.

It is possible that vaping isn't 100% safe.  (After all, what is?)  But they are clearly much healthier than cigs.

Plus cheaper.  Plus they don't smell bad.  Plus you can do them a lot more places.  (Not everywhere, but many more than smoking cigs.)

I wouldn't recommend anyone who doesn't already smoke start to vape, just like I wouldn't recommend anyone who doesn't smoke start to smoke.  But when you compare vaping to smoking, vaping is a clear cut winner.
