What cracks me up is when a guy gets in trouble at work for something or doesn't get something he wanted and the wife calls or shows up to take up his case.  Seen it happen at least a few times in my career.  Even had some guys mother call once.

If he ends up a free agent his stock just plummeted.  Thanks honey!  Pro athletes should be able to opt-in to a league-wide social media agent that reviews all communications before they go public.  I bet owners and the league would offer incentives to do so.  Anybody want to start a company?

Back in the 80's when my old man was in the Coast Guard there was some officers pulling a lot of bullshiat with the enlisted men.  My mom took it upon herself at the time to start raising hell with the state senators.  My old man at the time was a 2nd Class Aviation Machinist Mate.  Not a high rank, not exactly in a position to put the Captain's career in jeopardy.   Before too long my old man gets called in by the CO and told "Control your wife".  His response was perfect.

"Sir, my wife is a civilian.  I don't control her and you have no legal authority to give her orders."

The problem suddenly went away once the CO and the Senator had a phone conversation.  Don't fark with a wife.  They can be mean.

Yeah, her adolescent "LOL" was ill-advised, given the context, but I don't see a problem with a spouse contradicting a bullshiat report. She doesn't work for the team. She's not obligated to adhere to their message discipline. Obviously.

ooof, MRSA is the worst.

My daughter got MRSA infection on her knee, took about 6 months to get rid of it, and she had to take some pretty hefty antibiotics to combat it. There was talk of surgery to cut out part of her knee and even the possibility of amputation if it didn't get better.  She was 15-16 at the time.  Not something one wants to contemplate.

Huh.  So THAT's what I had last fall.  Started out with what looked like a zit on my shin, and a few days later I had an angry red area the size of a softball. It made walking incredibly painful for the next couple of weeks, but apparently I got off lightly.

Ma wasn't polite when she contacted the Senators and congresscritters.  The whole affair almost lead into congressional hearings about the abuse coming from the officers to the enlisted men.

That's because a MRSA infection means that they are going to be scrubbing their hospital with heavy-duty disinfectants.

Yup, I just got over one but I had to go to the ER.  They fixed it with a scalpel, pair of pliers and a vacuum cleaner under local.  Local doesn't help much btw.

MRSA is faaaaaaarked up. Resistant staph ever so slightly less. It will kill a normal healthy person under some circumstances, and losing a digit, hand foot or limb is common. I'd want a 2nd and 3rd opinion.

And according to TFA, the coaching staff is hinting that she is not in Tampa, but her husband is. Team doctors are in Tampa.  The wife (if that is her and not a spoof account) is trying to make light, but I'm sure it's kind of like a nervous tic.

I don't know a thing about controlling or preventing the presence of MRSA but I have to think there is some way to handle it.

2013-08-28 08:07:16 PM
I had a major brainfart when I posted earlier... DUH myself. MRSA is resistant staph. There are resistant viruses. I confused myself. Resistant means the Staph bacteria does not respond to the normal antibiotics, so stronger ones have to be used, like Cipro and such - sometimes called gorrilacillin.

I'm a dumbass. phht.

That's nothing.

The former Missus was mad about not getting the proper amount of lucre in my paycheck, Called around, and some dork gave her the number to PX Kelly's, Commandant of the Marines, desk phone.

Not the switchboard, not his office, but the one on his desk. I guess they had a lovely talk.

My CO, related parts of it too my PFC self. With the BTN CO, REGT CO, and a couple of dour looking gentlemen with chickens on their collars in attendance.

My only defense? I had no idea what the guys number was, as a S-1 clerk, all I had was the switchboard number.

Good times, good times.

Another good story? Having some house frau call me at home and chew me out about the way I treated her husband at work, Got my name out of the phonebook, I just wasn't the right guy.

After about 10 mins  of some harpy screeching at me, I simply told her it was because I found her husband having sex with random men during work hours.

Hope he had fun when he got home. I had my crazy, he could live with his.

We've had guys offshore have to get parts of their cheeks, arms, legs etc cut out because they didn't follow a simple rule: If you have a strange ANYTHING show up on your body, go to the medic.

Now my face is itching thinking about it.....

Funniest medic story, though, involves a guy rolling his testicles on a chair and having the medic inspect the resulting swelling.

/not as epic as the slatted chair thread, but pretty farking funny.
