(Washington Times)   In a move that is sure to anger at least 50% of the population, the Defense Department has now classified Catholics and Evangelical Protestants as "Extremist" groups alongside the likes of Al Qaeda and the KKK   (washingtontimes.com ) divider line

Oh, moonie times.

Funny thing though, those who are outraged, please make sure you spare us your righteous indignation until you publicly recant any position that holds that "muslims" are an extremist group.

2013-08-28 04:20:28 PM
green? Really? A Moonie Times article deciding  to be butt hurt over an inartfully phrased but totally correct power point slide?

really?

and yes subbie anyone who knows about Northern Ireland knows that Catholics and Protestants can be militant religious extremists too

To be fair, the only relatives and friends who come close to being blown up was done by Catholics and Evangelical Christians.

I'll say this about the Moonies:  I'm surprised they didn't become the official religion of Best Korea.  They would've fit in perfectly.

2013-08-28 04:36:21 PM
1. No, they didn't.

2. They never will.

3. farking Moonie paper, submittard. It's more ethical to post naked pictures of dead chicks.

Well, they do practice symbolic cannablism, their great messiah is one of the undead, and their most beloved symbol is a torture device that caused the suffering and death of millions over the centuries.  Sounds extreme to me.

I only believe this story because of the Washington Times spotless reputation for accuracy.

Alright, I got a green on the Politics tab! And for the record, I agree 100% with the decision to classify as extremist (hence the obvious tag) but most people who identify as one of these religions will look at themselves, their friends and their families, determine that none of them are terrorists, and be outraged by this classification. Afterall, they aren't NEARLY as bad as Al Qaeda *rolls eyes*

America needs to face the fact that we are all terrorists in one way or another.

I guess bombing medical clinics and assassinating physicians isn't extremist.

"Religious extremism is not limited to any single religion, ethnic group, or region of the world," the slide explains

DoD: Some Catholic and evangelical Protestant groups can be extremists and they are a threat.
Idiots: Defense Department called Catholics and evangelical Protestants "extremists"!!! Wharrgarrrble.

Doesn't this come up once every three months or so?  Persecution complex in full swing.

2013-08-28 05:03:40 PM
If the shoe fits.

The joining of Evangelical Protestants, specifically Prosperity Gospel and the rest of the Christian Identity movement adherents, to the Republican party is a very bad thing.

Why yes, yes we did. As a matter of fact, I just realized TFA is from APRIL.

Quoting a picture of a Todd Starnes article is no better context.  Extremists have learned to moderate their language and to use phrases that appeal more to moderates, this is a fact.  Anyone who doesn;t think that the US Military is not dominated largely by practicing Christians is an imbecile.  Anyone furthering this lie of a story is beneath contempt.

The worst part is that they misspelled Mormon.  Nice work.  Go Army, beet Navy!

A SPLC map of "hate groups" was used by a gunman in 2012 to target the conservative Family Research Council for its position on gay marriage. The gunman shot a security guard at the FRC's headquarters. The SPLC has refused to comment on its role in the shooting.

Umm, some crazy person takes their map and starts shooting someone so now they have a "role" in the shooting? Did he drive to these places? Did you interview the car maker or the tire manufacturer?
