he was told that the women who were supposedly carrying the poop were simply "directed to throw away prohibited items before entering the gallery." Yes, we're expected to believe that 18 jars of crap were thrown in public trashcans at the Texas Capitol, leaving no evidence behind, and yet photographs of the tampon confiscation made their way around the web.

Eye roll. What else would they do? Carrying poop in a jar is not illegal. Throwing a jar of poop away in a trash can is not illegal. If there was a jar of poop, why would anybody have filed a report?
I'm not opposed to theories that it was a jar of pickles or something misidentified as poop and summarily exaggerated, but even if it was poop and official action had been brought against people for legal possession of poop jars, you ladies would be just as butthurt about that.

FTFA: "While the DPS officers were apparently too busy to chronicle the 18 jars of feces they claim to have witnessed, other confiscated items were photographed: "a bottle of acrylic paint and a small jar" and "three bricks collected in the Capitol extension."

So it's your position that these officers documented, photographed and confiscated all that other mundane stuff, but somehow 18 separate jars of feces wasn't deemed to be worth making any kind of official record? Is this your position?

The one Occupy Wall Street protester who decided to drop a deuce on a police car was caught in the act, on film.  We're expected to believe eighteen jars of crap were found and no one, not the police, not other protestors, not other counter-protesters - not one single solitary soul managed to snag a photo?

Next thing you'll try telling me they were disposed of right next to those WND's of Saddam's we spent a decade looking for.

2013-08-28 07:21:03 PM
Worse yet, the protesters completely ignore my "Fetus in a Bottle"* stand.

*Fetus in a Bottle is a novelty item to amuse your friends and family and is not for throwing at the Governor of Texas and other dim-ass male chauvinist pig legislators.

Says so right on the bottom of the bottle.

Now what am  supposed to do with fifty crates of picked pig fetuses with onions? Put them on a cronut and sell them to the Cro Mags of Texas?

The rest is just misogyny.

A: It's a biohazard. You don't throw dangerous biological material in the trash and walk away like nothing happened. It's not the 70's.

B: It's what they built their case on, you don't think that they would have wanted to prove to the rest of the world that they weren't ful of shiat?

C: Pictures of the tampons surfaced, something that wasn't a biohazard, and was absolutely necessary for at least some of the women to carry, yet no evidence of the poop jars AT ALL?

D: Ditto for the "3 bricks and a small jar of acrylic paint". No potential health hazard from those, yet THOSE got cataloged.

Yeah, this is cool and all. I'm sure you guys are excited to be patting each other on the back, but until the smoke clears and the government is shown not to have a case, it's still more or less speculation. This isn't really "old news", it's just people like us getting vindicated and showing that we were right all along. I mean, people knew Nixon was guilty as Hell, but they still pursued the case until the shiat was proven.

I continue to not be shocked when Texas authorities turn out to be liars.

It's not just Texas. This particular lie (sometimes it's jars, sometimes plastic bags) is trotted out every time there's a major protest. We can only hope that some day we get a copy of the procedure documentation that apparently was distributed to nationwide law enforcement about ten or fifteen years ago.

Otherwise I've been reading without an account since about 2004 onward, more or less. As for now, I thought I'd do something different and interact a bit.

I know now (or used to know) several trolls elsewhere that actually do it for fun. I never believed people could be that way. But I paid attention, and came to the conclusion that while, yes, there are little topics they spout for the troll lulz, they are indeed quite ...stunted... when it comes to actually understanding the big topics. They honestly believe a lot of crap, but when they're called on it, they switch back to troll mode and claim they were simply trolling all the time. It's sad.

And because I knew these folks in person, I found out that they had the time to do this because they were a) unemployed, b) in school, c) retired, d) just extremely unproductive at their jobs.

So, I watched the politics tab here for years, watched every single argument, and actually learned a lot.

Just from what I've seen of serial_crusher though, I figure he's angry at something, and when he actually pauses and examines what's around him, instead of reacting from emotion, he'll start making more sense. I've been there too in my own way.

From what I've seen, he can be completely retarded trolling in some threads, outright offensive in others, and generally normal at random.  Part of me suspects that some of these are troll accounts shared by mods, which would account for a single account having multiple posting styles/personalities.

Yeah, that "144 page report" is kind of a joke.  I just read through it.  It's just an email dump with most of the pages being repeats of the whole reply chain, the same damned confidentiality notice on every email.  I guestimate about 10% of its content is the phrase "Sent from my iPad"
Some interesting things from it:
1) DPS officials reiterating and stressing that the jars were "suspected" of containing urine and feces, and that the original press release stated as much.
2) DPS officials stressing what I said above, that the people with the jars were allowed to throw them away and enter, because carrying a jar of pee (outside the capital) is not allowed.
3) Actual photos of the bricks and bottles of paint.   (page 128 & 130) (personally I'd rather have poop thrown at me than a brick...)
4) Photos of an unidentified liquid inside an unmarked container (page 129)
5) Tweets by protestors expressing intent to throw orange paint (with acknowledgement that it may have just been a joke, but "just in case....")

I'm just saying, the libs don't have much of a leg to stand on in this one.  DPS only ever claimed that the containers were suspected to contain urine and feces, and they coughed up a photo of one of the containers.  Not sure what legitimate use there is for a pile of bricks at a protest either.
They had more than enough evidence to start confiscating anything that appeared throwable, and presented it in the "report"

Reality has a troll bias, evidently.

Satanic_Hamster: Wake Up Sheeple: Just from what I've seen of serial_crusher though, I figure he's angry at something, and when he actually pauses and examines what's around him, instead of reacting from emotion, he'll start making more sense. I've been there too in my own way.

From what I've seen, he can be completely retarded trolling in some threads, outright offensive in others, and generally normal at random.  Part of me suspects that some of these are troll accounts shared by mods, which would account for a single account having multiple posting styles/personalities.

Of course, some of the people just might be retarded jackasses.

I definitely take a slightly more abrasive attitude in politics threads.   Derpfest is kind of a given, so when in Rome...

Wake Up Sheeple: I figure he's angry at something, and when he actually pauses and examines what's around him, instead of reacting from emotion

It's funny, I don't think I've ever heard anybody refer to me as an emotional person.  I'm never over here being infuriated and banging my keyboard if that's what you think.  Disregard for other peoples' emotions is what usually gets me into trouble.

I don't need actual evidence, as long as it  feels true

Negative proof is a kind of proof apparently.

Sounds like pure bullshiat.

First I really can't see pro-choice women being inspired to poop into jars, I really just can't.  I am sure there are exceptions, but no.  I can't see that conversation.  "I know, lets shiat into glass jars  and throw it at them."  "How about we don't?"  In addition to probably being some sort of felony, I can't see it happening.

Add into the bullshiat about bullets in the grass in Wisc and the tape causing tens of thousands in damage to marble surfaces.   Republican's just can't tolerate mass protests in their open legal process and will lie to keep people out.

OK, here come the photos, right?

-Strenuously object, your honor?

-Well, OK then. Since you strenuously object, I'll sustain it.

Yes, I know you've switched now to claiming you were simply trolling us on this one, instead of admitting you were wrong. (sigh)

Just checking. Around here, flubs like that will have these vultures calling "alt".
:D

I think I personally made an account somewhere around 2000, 2001, but I don't even remember what the username would've been, since I probably barely used it. Does that count?

Otherwise I've been reading without an account since about 2004 onward, more or less. As for now, I thought I'd do something different and interact a bit.

Satanic_Hamster:
Couple possibilities:
1) He's really that much of a retard.
2) He's a pathetic little troll.
3) He's a mod trying to drum up page views.
4) Combination of multiples from above.

Why dwell on the feces and urine claim, though?  Would a plot to throw feces justify the confiscation of tampons, but a plot to throw bricks and paint wouldn't?  That's the part I'm missing.

Wake Up Sheeple: Yes, I know you've switched now to claiming you were simply trolling us on this one, instead of admitting you were wrong. (sigh)

Well, that's absolutely not what I said. Sorry if you misinterpreted it that way.  I'm trying to make an effort to speak more clearly, but evidently have more work to do.
My theory since the beginning has been that somebody misidentified a jar of pickle juice or similar and a rumor spread.  And that I don't think there's anything the DPS would have done differently if it had just been paint and bricks, instead of paint, bricks, and bodily fluids.

SunsetLament: Hahahaha - you libs are pissed because the Texas state troopers didn't check jars of feces and urine into evidence?  Here's a hint ... if you don't make arrests, you don't need to preserve evidence.

So why did they check a "small jar of acrylic paint" into evidence? Why all of the photo proof of tampons and pads being confiscated? Why not a single concrete piece of proof of a single jar of feces?

Wait, you BELIEVED in the "stockpiles of WMDs", didn't you? Even after none were found, you figured that just meant that Saddam had invented invisibility paint.

Given the truly horrible, offensive and abusive legislation being passed by those legislators, I can understand that they would assume people are after them.  It says something that their fears of what their victims will do to them are greater than what is actually happening in reality.  They KNOW what terrible things they are doing - but the general public is not as keenly aware of it.

someonelse: I continue to not be shocked when Texas authorities turn out to be liars.

^^^
Here's the thing; Conservatives are amoral cowards and shiat-heads. The last thing they want is a "fair-fight", or to see the other side in any argument get a chance to have their say, so they'll do whatever they need to prevent people who disagree with them from being allowed to voice that disagreement; if they can do it in such a way that adds insult to that injury, all the better because Cons are the type of jerks who enjoy humiliating others. This is also why the Republican party loves voter-suppression so much, and is actively dragging old Jim Crow practices & arguments out of their graves to justify making it difficult/impossible for Dem-voting populations to vote in elections.

They aren't/weren't actually worried that they'll be attacked, but pretend they are -pretend THEY are the victims- gives them a reason to push around the women of Texas in yet another petty, small-minded, cruel little way, and they'll jump at every chance to do so that they get.

Prot pallies do lousy damage these days.. Shield of the Righteous doesn't hit hard anymore, though it also gives 3 seconds of greatly reduced damage when used.  Solo questing is quite tedious.
