Dumbass went back out after having a gun pointed at her?

Apparently she does think her life is worth two bricks.

Looks like it gonna turn into the wild wild midwest with a gun fight at the Golden Corral.

In Detroit? I'd just be happy they show up at all.

We have cops?

Huh.

2013-08-28 01:44:28 PM
I think it would take them at least 18 hours or so, I'm like 1200 miles away.

WHERE ARE YOU ROBOCOP?!

2013-08-28 01:45:20 PM
They were unavailable because they had a "Roll Call"

Yup, I know what kind of roll, too....

"Your life [isn't] worth ... two bricks.'"

Anyone who means that threat deserves and immediate, on-the-spot, karmic-inspired death.

It means "I'm doing something, and I will kill you with no hesitation or guilt if you interfere in ANY way with the thing I'm doing."  Die, asshole.

Justifiable homicide rates are through the roof on Detroit.

People don't wait for the cops these days.

I see nothing wrong with this.

I lived in Detroit for 50 years, then finally even I had enough.  The lack of police was a huge factor.

Call 911 - Me:  Lots of gunfire going on.  911 op:  What is the address where it is happening.  Me:  I can give you my address  911: No, I need the address where it is happening.  Me:  Well I am trying to avoid the doors and windows  911:  Sorry, can't help you  click

Call 911:  Me: There is someone ripping the aluminum siding off my neighbors house.  911: How do you know they are not renovating?  Me: Because most siding contractors don't have an old grocery cart for the siding.  911:  Does someone live in the house  Me:  Yes, the woman is at work right now  911:  Can you have her call it in?  Me:  I don't have her number at work  911: Well there is nothing we can do  click

Call 911:  Noon Me: I have a lost child, he is 4 years old and only knows his first name, he cannot find his way home.  911: Okay, we will send someone out  1:00 Me:  I called an hour ago about a lost child 911:  Well no one has reported him missing  Me:  Okay, does that mean I can keep him?  911:  We will send a car out.  2:00 still have the kid, call again - 3:00 still have the kid  4:30 and 5 phone calls later the cops finally came and picked him up.

So glad I live in suburbia now!!

It's a shame that someone didn't put down those animals in the street.

Verbal: So, the auto industry goes bust, whites with money flee to the suburbs and like that Detroit was gone. Detroit goes underground. Nobody has ever seen much of Detroit since then. It becomes a myth, a spook story that big cities tell smaller muncipalities at night. "Don't diversify your economy, and Motor City will get you." And no one ever really believes.

Dave Kujan:Do you believe in Detroit, Verbal?

Verbal: Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of Detroit." Well I believe
in God, and the only thing that scares me is being forced to live in Detroit.

But just think of all the poor and downtrodden in Detroit that were helped over those 10 or so years by redistributing wealth  before the high taxes and corruption drove everyone else away and bankrupted the city for what will be generations.

Any city would gladly turn rare dalliances of prosperity into fleeting moments via wasteful redistribution of wealth that eventually lead to eons of not being able to provide even basic services like police and fire versus sustaining that prosperity using the same policies that lead to the prosperity in the first place.

Why do Detroit cops feel the need to emblazon an image of said city on their patrol cars? What's there to be proud of? It certainly isn't the city's beauty or infrastructure, and it can't be the well staffed and funded police either. So, why waste much needed money on the paint/decals?

So they were the wheels from a car, and left it up on bricks, and this genius wrote own the licence plate of the car?

Well cops certianly don't want to show up while a crime is in progress, thats how they get shot. They have to be concerned about their own safety too, you know.

CSB:
Roomate sees two guys trying to break into her shed several years back and calls the police. The dispatcher tells her an officer will be by in 30-45 minutes. She says the two men are there right now, but won't be in 30 minutes. The dispatcher says "sorry, that's the quickest we can get someone there." Roomate says "Never mind, I'm just gonna shoot them both" and hangs up. Police show up two minutes later.

You have NO RIGHT to police protection, the courts have ruled this multiple times.

You do have the right to bear arms in this country. You can either lock and load, or bend over and spout off libtard rhetoric. Or get a pet attack bear.

They are taking a page from the USPS play book. It only cost $7 BILLION to transfer from this:

farm3.static.flickr.com

...to this:

farm1.static.flickr.com

Because it's all about branding, especially when the government forbids competition. But doesn't that "sonic eagle" inspire confidence, and make you want to mail more packages....uhm, thereby increasing the loss at USPS?

But hey, at least we don't have the Lance Armstrong USPS team to kick around any more.

Ok for those of you who've never set foot in Detroit (but still feel they're qualified to make judgements about it), let me explain exactly how this works...

Standard Operating Procedure in the DPD is as follows:

If the dispatcher mentions any words such as "gun," "armed," or "shots fired" then you are not going to see cop for a minimum of fifteen minutes.  End of story.  They are only concerned for their own safety, not yours, and they are not coming anywhere near that crime scene until they are positive that the armed criminals in question have had plenty of time to clear out.  They are not going to do anything that gives them even the remotest chance of being shot at, themselves.

You could literally have a bar fight break out (at, say, the Majestic?) within visible distance of police precinct (say, the 13th Precinct?), dial 911 and it will still take the cops over half an hour to arrive.  I should know, I worked there.

Now if it's a non-violent crime, that's another story.  If they see an opportunity to look good, or at least beat the crap out of a random unarmed person, at absolutely zero personal risk then their response time does a one-eighty and they arrive so fast you'd think they were psychic.  Or you can utter the magic words "I'm a WCCC Student" and they will teleport to your location and clobber whoever is bothering you without asking questions as if you were America's Own Royal Family.

What could Milwaukee possibly have in common with Detroit?

Maybe they didn't want to put miles on all those new cars they got, after all, they may have to put them up on eBay.

FLMountainMan: What could Milwaukee possibly have in common with Detroit?

Agreed.  Milwaukee resident who's visited Detroit.  Things here in Milwaukee aren't necessarily great ... but it's nowhere near Detroit bad.  And it's a lot better than it was in, say, the Jeffrey Dahmer days.

"Ha ha!  Lover's spat.  OK, go back home you two.  Oh, and be sure to grab a bite to eat."
