The countdown is on and they're going to have to fly by night in order to defend their subdivisions. Anything Israel does to exercise its freewill will send signals and permanent waves throughout the international community.

From Israel's point of view it would be stupid not to.

"Rush" - you mean the *group*, or the Flaming Nazi Gasbag (tm)?

Flaming Nazi Gasbag would be a really cool name for a band.

Any chance some of our cruise missiles could "accidentally" hit Israel when we attack Syria?  Like what happened to the French embassy when Reagan bombed Libya decades ago.

Things that will happen:

1. Diplomatic traffic will escalate over the next week to a month, with an eventual ultimatum being given to Assad to get rid of his chemical weapons under UN inspection.
2. Assad will ignore this, as chemical weapons are his deterrent against Israel.
3. The U.S. and Great Britain will launch Tomahawks from subs and destroyers and hit Assad's chemical weapons units and headquarters (but NOT stockpiles or manufacturing facilities, for fear of massive collateral damage).
4. Everything will reset to before last week's chemical attack.

Things that won't happen.
1. A surprise, round-the-clock bombing offensive by the U.S. and NATO
2. Ground troops entering Syria from anywhere.

I had that game ages ago.  I realized later that it's actually kind of anti-Israel since the player's (Israel's) goal is to overthrow or destroy all other countries in the ME.  Egypt was always a biatch.

I think they're just trying to keep Syria in the limelight.  Those missiles that fly by night are no match for Israel's distant early warning system.  They should exhibit grace under pressure, tell them to hold your fire, and quietly exit stage left.

You both get a resounding golf clap from me, for the excellent use of RUSH songs in your responses!

No way. Nothing is happening until Europe and the Secret Society start from the dark and begin the Final countdown. Once that happens, it will be out of this world and the only thing left of Assad will be a bag of bones.

That's a good weapon. Having to listen to Rush for any period of time would make anyone want to just kill themselves. So they don't have to risk their own troops.

This chemical attack will be an Anthem for those wishing to start a new war. We must treat this situation with Kid Gloves. I think that Obama is thinking "I'm doing the Best I Can," and I agree, because In the End, the Lessons we gain from this conflict could leave us with Something For Nothing.

An issue that's closer to the heart is that Bashar al-Assad is nobody's hero with malignant narcissism and shouldn't be treated with kid gloves. An uprising sparked by international intervention could be Syria's Bastille Day as they say farewell to the kings that have controlled them  for years.

Israel isn't going to be a very safe place to be in the near future.  If I lived there I'd consider buying passage to Bangkok.

It could happen, if there were a guidance systems break down, a struggle to exist, to resist.  Possibly resulting in a pulse of dying power in a clenching plastic fist.
