Donte Stallworth's comeback has been shocked like a hot air balloon crashing into power lines.

Donte Stallworth's comeback has been flattened like a pedestrian in the path of a speeding Bentleycrossing across in a blind area of highway construction at night.

Bad troll subby, most of the fault lies with the pedestrian since he was a dumbass jumping construction barriers.

Eh, one of these guys will be picked up by the Lions.  That's how bad the WRs have been without Calvin Johnson.

I'm sorry, but Stallworth was over the limit when the accident happened. As far as I'm concerned, DUI overrules any pedestrian stupidity.

The Jets should release all of their QBs and just run wildcat.  What have they got to lose?

Youre saying you have never driven borderline? I doubt it, unless you have lived in a major city your entire life and never had a vacation then youre lying, fact remains if he hadnt jumped the barriers he would never had gotten hit.

And the .08 limit is bullshiat, doctors put the legal drunk limit at .12 when laws were enacted but madd fought for it to be lowered since very few people were getting caught at that level, just like they are trying to get it lowered down to .04 which would basically put all bars out of business that werent on a city bus line.

Lost Thought 00: He blew a 0.12. Drunk and impaired by even the weakest standards

Yes and the man was in a construction zone, with barely any light, on a blind curve, not in a crosswalk, on a causeway all because he was in a hurry to get home and didnt want to be bothered with finding an appropriate area to cross. The reason why such a light sentence was reached was because once the full story got out the prosecutor wasnt sure a jury would have convicted him on even manslaughter charges.

Most of the blame lies with him, Donte made a mistake and if the guy wouldnt have been crossing where he did he would still be alive, Im not a huge fan of his but he manned up and accepted the fact he killed someone, I respect that but people were shiatting on him without reading details of the case.

He bought off the family of the victim. Fact of the matter is, in any other state, Stallworth would be serving a minimum 5 year sentence. Rightfully so, because of the 2 drunk people involved, only one thought it was a good idea to wield a deadly weapon in public

I don't drink so I've never driven borderline or impaired. Not everyone has to do it at some time or another.

I do, however, have a large amount of drunk friends that I do drive around and let me tell you, driving around with a bunch of loud drunks can sometimes be just as distracting as being drunk yourself.

Drunk1 "Hey! Slow down! Did you see that chick over there with the tight ass?"
Me "You mean that guy getting into his car"
Drunk1 "You sure that was a dude?"
Me "I'm sure"
Drunk2 "Nah, that wasn't no dude"
Me "It was and you were lying down so you wouldn't have saw who we are talking about anyway."
Drunk1 "I'm sure it was a chick, my eyes are better than yours anyway"
Me "Whatever. Doesn't matter."
Drunk2 "Damn D-fro, why you gotta be cockblocking all the time"
Me "If he wants to cross swords with some guy, that's none of my business, but we're a good mile away from wherever that car was parked anyway, so shut up and go back to sleep."

Meanwhile Drunk1 has started fooling around with the radio to find something to listen to.

If your argument is ever 'driving slightly drunk is okay,' you may already have lost. Seriously man, you'e arguing that it's okay to drive while impaired by alcohol. Either you're an idiot, or you're a monumental farkwad is going to one day going to get someone killed, and the world will be lucky if it's only you.

I've driven that stretch of road.

At best, I'd give a 60/40 split of the responsibility. I really hate habitual drunk drivers that get behind the wheel sloshed, and from what I can see Stallworth was at worst "MADD drunk". As in, really wasn't drunk. Even marginally a few milliseconds impared wouldn't have saved that guys' life....stone cold sober Stallworth would likely have still run him down. That area was a *biatch* when the construction was going on.

That all said, a guy died. While I think Stallworth did his time, and maybe shouldn't be getting quite the flack he is, you can't change that he killed a guy, and that's pretty bad juju. I don't feel sorry for his turn of fortune one bit.

My understanding of the case was that they had the whole thing on tape and determined that the dude ran right out in front of him and even a sober person with perfectly fine reactions wouldn't have been able to avoid it.  Plus, wasn't the guy he hit drunk and said to be suicidal?  Not saying it's OK, just thought that's how it went down.

Pretty much. I don't know how much credence was given to the suicidal, but the guy had mental issues going back a ways and was positively hammered to boot.

No he wouldn't, the prosecutor even admitted it would have been hard to get the conviction in front of a jury if it went to trial. That's why he took such a short plea deal, and word going around defense camp was the man was lit as well since he got hit over an hour after he got off.

Also, the insurance companies paid off the family not Done, if they had introduced into trial the man was negligent they wouldn't have paid out and the civil trial would have failed as well. Donte took the huge hit and owned up to his fark up even though he wasn't solely to blame.

The point I'm making is that doctors decided .12 was drunk to impair judgement yet madd had it lowered since people didn't get caught enough for their liking. Now he was .12 but the issue I have is the guy caused an issue even a sober person would have had trouble avoiding then add to the fact he was drunk himself and depressed you have me siding on the side of someone who farked up but was really in the wrong place for someone on their way out.

Bottom line is that I'm not arguing that he was drunk it was even a sober person couldn't have avoided hitting a drunk, suicidal man.

IMO it's on you if you're the pedestrian (unless you're on a sidewalk), especially in cases where you're jaywalking. Yeah, the other guy might get arrested, but you're f*cking playing Frogger with two-ton vehicles zipping by, and even if the drivers aren't drunk, half of 'em are changing the radio station, doing their makeup, shaving, texting, talking on the phone, or any number of things that's going to prevent them from seeing you. You're an idiot if you're trying to cross and you're counting on someone else to notice you and react in time (and you'd have to assume there's no other cars on the road - if they can't switch lanes or brake in time...well, I don't need a 20-car pileup because someone reacted to your stupid ass.

Has Stallworth ever NOT had a hamstring injury?

And what's with McKnight being arrested for traffic warrants? Even when you're not a superstar, you make damn good money in the NFL. So rather than mail a check you'd rather be arrested?
