That'll show Big Pharma but good!

2013-08-27 02:36:47 PM
At least they those kids didn't die autistic

2013-08-27 02:36:53 PM
Parents can be so stupid. Isn't this why we have laws mandating preventive treatments for children?

Oh, yeah. "Personal responsibility."

The sooner we get the idiots out of the system, the better.

The defense department regrets to inform you that your babies are retarded because you were stupid.

2013-08-27 02:37:46 PM
just let it happen.

Stupid people burying their kids is just fine by me.

/i wonder if walmart will start selling tiny coffins?

2013-08-27 02:38:10 PM
People like that should have their children taken away.

2013-08-27 02:38:27 PM
I thought the show House exaggerated that lack of Vitamin K made you spew blood all over the place. Jesus.

2013-08-27 02:41:16 PM
I would think FAS is more of a problem there.

2013-08-27 02:41:29 PM
I'm ok with this. If the parents aren't concerned with they health of their own children beyond their own selfish presumptions about right or wrong, then let their babies die. Maybe their next child won't have the disorder. If one refuses to accept physicians' due diligence and education on a subject, and someone dies as a result, then so be it.

2013-08-27 02:41:53 PM
Did the parents pray to heal their babies?

2013-08-27 02:42:02 PM
eh, they'll make more preventable newborns. vitamin K causes early-onset Alzheimer's, anyway.

2013-08-27 02:42:25 PM
Refusal to give a kid a preventative vitamin shot should be grounds for removal from the household.

2013-08-27 02:42:48 PM
Apparently that doctor has a major hard-on to be Iron Man.

2013-08-27 02:43:15 PM
There's a vitamin K?  Is it found in malk?

2013-08-27 02:43:42 PM
"These were all patients that were born at home or born in the hospital, but all had declined vitamin K,"

Of course they declined the vitamin K. They're newborn babies. Next time try asking their mothers.

You know what?  Good.  Maybe if these anti-vax morons keep it up, then evolution will take it's course, and this sort of idiocy will just weed itself out.  I'm so tired of arguing with these simple-minded asshats.  If they want to keep denying the real science in favor of what just "feels right," then fine.  Go wild.

2013-08-27 02:45:42 PM
Anybody care to speculate as to whether Mom could pass along her elevated Vit. K stores if she were eatin her greens?

2013-08-27 02:45:49 PM
I'm told we're spending trillions fighting terrorists who want to take our freedoms.

Post an article about vaccinations or parental choice in child rearing and I see Fark is ready to just voluntarily revoke the Constitution all on their own.

No patience, pity, or compassion for these morons. Let them have their post-natal abortions.

We need laws regulating who is allowed to make & raise children.

FTFA: Mom can't eat enough greens to pass it along in breast milk, the baby uses up his reserves shortly, formula doesn't have enough, and oral supplements aren't enough.

Basically, baby is screwed without that shot.

Tennessee?

I woudl think it is because "God don't like shots" more than shots hurt.

2013-08-27 02:49:46 PM
THEY HAVE THE MEMORY OF A GOLDFISH. That baby isn't gonna know if you gave him an injection or not, you idiots.

/unless later he has to ask why the left side of his face droops

Seriously, what is wrong with people? The MMR shot doesn't cause autism and Vitamin K doesn't cause leukemia. Three children now growing up with brain damage because their parents wanted to make a stand for something the civilized world regards as stupid. They sure showed us.

Is the baby still getting first dibs on mom's nutrients by the time she's breastfeeding or is that just placenta work?

I saw this Asimov quote posted in a thread a few days back, and it seems to fit almost every fark thread, but is especially apt here.

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

Of course, of course. Of course we have to force these mentally defective parents to use common sense.
But Mayyyyyyyyyybee. Maybe if they're just too stupid and we let their genes die off we'll all be better for it as a race.

The business of making tiny coffins really is a growth industry in America.

2013-08-27 02:54:45 PM
The kicker is, because of the brain bleeds......they'll probably be diagnosed as autistic under the new DSM because of the developmental delays.

Way to avoid that autism diagnosis, asshats!

Let them die.  I'm pretty sure repairing these kids will require medications and needles and things that are probably very unsafe for infants.

lockers: Refusal to give a kid a preventative vitamin shot should be grounds for removal from the household.

Specifically, we should treat parents who refuse basic medical care like we treat parents who refuse their children food, water, and other essentials.

2013-08-27 02:58:12 PM
and then the parents sue the hospital because they didn't do enough to prevent permanent brain damage to the kid after they came in with bleedy brain

I honestly can't answer that. I only know what the article said, but it sounds like a little of both? Either way, it sounded like without the shot the kid is boned.

the whole 'MMR causes autism' was a false flag operation to discredit the people who point out all of the horrible things that the MMR shot actually does cause. "I don't want my kid to have widespread low-grade neurological dysfunction." "Shaddup you dummass, ain't no vaccine what causes autism!" "No, I didn't mean autism, that's just silly." "Hey Cletus, lookit this fool over here done thinks MMR shots cause autism!"

also, fluoridation.

My gotdamned teeth are made from farking CHALK, or one would think. I've had more cavities than the TSA can search in a day.
I would HATE to think what my teeth would be like WITHOUT the fluoride they put in water when I was a kid.

thats how it used to work, but thanks to advances in medical science, we have learned to save the lives of morons, and to pronlong thier lives at that, if nature has made fit that the moron is naturaly infertile, science has devised ways so that the stupid may still replicate. that the inferior and infirm may also live long enough to spread thier defects to a new generation.

One can never truely make anything idiot proof, for we shall only invent a better idiot.
