Angry Buddha: suburbanguy: 'If you build it, they will come'

I don't know anybody who says that.  I've only ever heard 'he' because it's talking about Shoeless Joe.

All this time, I thought it was referencing his father.

Yeah, you're right - the field is talking about his father.  But Ray thinks the voice is talking about SJJ.  He hears the word 'he'.

"...he will come." is referencing his father. Initially you think "he" is Shoeless Joe, but when his dad appears at the field and they play catch, you realize the "he" was his father. Great book. So was Kinsella's The Iowa Baseball Confederacy.

Danger Mouse: Slaves2Darkness: EvilEgg: Play it again, Sam.

I was going to say that.

The line is "Play it Sam." "You played it for her you can play it for me."

Rick Does not say "Play it Sam:"

Rick: You played it for her, you can play it for me!
Sam: Well, I don't think I can remember...
Rick: If she can stand it, I can! Play it!

If I recall correctly, there are two scenes in the movie involving Rick and Sam playing the song, one near the beginning before Ilsa arrives.

I thought Rick said both "play it Sam" and "play it again" just not "play it again Sam."

To be fair, ones like "Luke, I am your Father" and "You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!" put the quotes in context when otherwise one might not infer that you're using a movie quote.

The Star Wars one that I got wrong forever were Vader's last words to Luke in RotJ. I always thought he said "You've arrived. Tell your sister you've arrived." But it's actually "You were right." Right about what I'm still not sure.

"You can't handle the truth!" needs no context.

Presumably that he was right that there was redemption possible for Anakin. That there was still some good in him.

Pinner: Missing is "Anyone...?.... Anyone...?"
People always add Bueller to it.
Fail.

Not a fail, Ben Stein calls out Beuller's name several times during attendance until a chick says that her friend's friend's boyfriend's girlfriend (don't quote me on that, but along similar lines) saw him pass out at 31 Flavors. Stein thanks her and then starts calling out Fry's name over and over.

He means the later scene when Ben Stein is teaching, talking about Voodoo Economics and the Laffer Curve.  He keeps saying "anyone, anyone".  He never says "Anyone" and "Bueller" together.
