durbnpoisn: My problem with dollar stores nowadays...  Nothing costs a dollar in there any more.  My daughter loves the dollar store, so I find myself in there once a week or so.  Every damn thing is marked, $1.50 or higher.

What's the world coming to?

at dollar tree?

rarely i've seen larger/more expensive items that did indeed cost more than $1 (like some peel & stick floor tiles...think they were $1 each tile for a box of however many tiles)

often i see things like candy, cheaper canned items, etc marked 2 for $1, 3 for $1, etc

i always like dollar tree for when i'm low on cash but need to buy things for a can spend $10 on coloring books, crayons, toys, etc, and really load up! my first christmas with my wife, her daughter was 7 and we had very little money, but i said the kid needs a full stocking from santa...filled that thing up on dollar tree items, she was happy as could be!
