I don't think the 90s really had a distinct look. The 60s 70s and 80s did but unless you count flannel and goth looks, the 90s not so much.

Anyway, the 90s are over, unfortunately. Let it go.

Good. Baseball caps are an abomination and should not fall under the category of being a hat.

That's why no one will ever throw a party with a 90's theme.  Well almost no one.  There is always that one guy who desperately wants everyone to listen to his 311 and Candlebox albums...

The 90s may not have had a single, unified look (no era really did, regardless of what people remember), but there were definitely trends that immediately recall that decade.

Wife & I started calling these "Provenza hats" due to watching a lot of The Closer episodes. I never even thought about Gilligan for some reason. I did not realize they were normally termed "bucket hats".

Yeah, unfortunately there's a lot of 80s fashion bleeding into early 90s fashion. I rewatched the first season of The X-Files recently. While it holds up remarkably well (and I was impressed by the production values), the shoulder pads and hair on Scully are soooooo dated.

This is how I remember the 90s:

RTOGUY: I only wear Tilley hats and own three of them are they cool yet?

Me too, but I only own one, one of the wider-brimmed ones. My ex-wife always thought it looked stupid on me, but I never  cared what she thought about it. The important things is it keeps my bald head from turning into Mr. Burns', it keeps my neck and ears from getting sunburned and it just keeps me shady and comfortable on sunny days.

And the most important thing is I don't look like a baseball-capped golf dweeb from the suburbs which to my mind would be the polar opposite of cool.
