"German beer is goooudd ! Haha already likes expensive bottles!"

Heineken is expensive? Shirtless kid drinking beer posted to the Facebook wall? Something tells me the gene pool runs pretty shallow in that family.

Baby girl. Because knowing the gender is important.

Also, good luck. You have a blurry photo as evidence; may as well investigate Big Foot at that rate.

Plus Google says it's Dutch, not German.

1) Dutch, idiot.
2) Expensive? It's in the toilet paper aisle at the supermarket.

I'm pretty sure the photo was blurred after the fact--probably by the TV news guys--to protect the child's identity. Which is weird, because they all look alike to me.

That's a big baby who is obviously able to stand even while drinking beer. In addition nursing usually involves a nipple of some sort, and not the topless "Babby's" being in the picture.

Maybe if more parents were as progressive as the ones in the article then we wouldn't have such a problem with teenaged binge drinking in this country.

I for one salute them for introducing their child to alcohol early and demystifying it,  it will lead her to a life of responsible alcohol consumption.

We briefly spoke to the parents inside the tattoo parlor Monday evening. The parents said it was meant to be a joke but they know it was not funny.

When I was six my older brothers thought it was might amusing to get me drunk. I didn't. I can still remember how dizzy I felt and how I couldn't walk straight.

I've noticed lately that anytime alcohol or marijuana is mentioned in a headline someone comes in, shiats all over it, makes a vague comment about how they're superior because they don't partake and they pity those who do, and then disappears.  It's odd.

We're more scandalized over the beer than we are the fact that the child is running around naked and has been cooked in the sun.

I don't condone the abuse of either and haven't partaken in the latter since teenagehood, but I think espousing zero tolarence crap is insanely idiotic.  Best they don't re-enter the thread after the initial threadshiat.

This.

Kids have been taking sips out of their parents beer bottles as long as beer has been sold in bottles. As for you beer snobs saying Heineken is cheap, not everyone is dumb enough to waste $12 on a 6-pack of beer.

2013-08-27 01:43:47 AM
The cops should go deal with actual crime instead of wasting time on this nonsense.

The government shouldn't be able to control every bite of food and every sip of liquid that a kid takes.  If his parent gives him a small amount of beer, that's up to them, not the local cops.  In Texas, it would be legal for the parents to give their kid some alcohol.  Getting the kid get wasted would be a another matter.

And there are pretty good odds that it really was just water and that it was done for a joke.

Wow, we're really still scared of alcohol in the US, huh?  Especially with regards to youth drinking.

the rest of the world is like, "meh."

Well, except for the middle east, of course.

I guess were more like the middle east on moral issues than Europe.

pussyfied
the worst kind of pussyfied

there is zero personal responsibility

strangely enough, it is legal for your kid to drink in your home in most states. while you are present.
the laws are strange, but esp when you get into religious issues ...

plus, how else would you learn to drink like an adult? tiny glass of wine/beer at special meals/holidays.

While it is obviously not water, as dark as it is, it certainly isn't Heinekrap. Probably soda.

As for it being an expensive beer, it's not cheap to someone who most likely buys 12 packs of Natty Ice.

In FL it's about the same price as Sierra Nevada or Sam Adams, either of which is better.

It is indeed Dutch, but it is kind of pricey.  A friend of mine stocks his 'fridge with PBR cans, not because he's a hipster but because it's cheap and it goes down easy - and he drinks a lot of beer.

I haven't sunk that low yet.  Have you bought a 12-pack of Heineken lately?   It used to be about $1 per bottle, but they've been raising the price consistently since I started drinking it. I'm paying close to $1.50 per bottle now.

Pot is cheaper than Heineken.
