He was in the Hunger Games so I would suspect that got him on the radar. He is also very good live and very charismatic. Even if his music is a bit deriviative.

They went into every f*cking commercial break yesterday playing his crap.  So help me if that's going to be the case for the duration.

I always thought James Blake looks kind of like Lenny Kravitz, and now James Blake is apparently retiring.  That sucks.  That is all I have to add to this conversation.

James Blake should have retired 10 years ago, just like Lenny. So I think you might be on to something.

For Lenny, I'd say that's rather generous.  Are You Gonna Go My Way came out in '93.  For Blake, I'm kinda sad to hear it.  Not a happy time for the American men's side.  Come on Isner?  Sure, whatever.

93? Shiat, that's even older than I thought. Blake has sucked for years now. He's an embarrassment. Isner's okay, but I'm not sure he has the stuff to win a Slam. And yeah, who's coming up for the US? Jack Sock? Fortunately, I don't care about nationalities when it comes to tennis, except maybe for Davis Cup.

But back to this weird event. Has the US Open always had an opening ceremony? It seemed like some 80 year old USTA official said "What can we do to seem groovy to the youngsters?"
