I liked the wings McDonald's use to have. These don't sound very appealing.

2013-08-26 11:02:40 PM
Sounds good, but I'm guessing they might market it like the McRib. Available only a couple times a year. I could be wrong, and I probably am.

2013-08-26 11:11:16 PM
There are already problems with wing shortages. Remember a couple of years ago when wing prices spiked around the Super Bowl? This is only going to exacerbate price/supply issues in the future.

Is there any type of food McDonalds won't royally fark up?

Why are wings still a thing? Do people not know you can dip any cut of chicken in buffalo sauce?

2013-08-26 11:18:56 PM
It will last until some idiot feeds one to their kid one and they choke.

Because the mcnuggets have never had bones in them and the label wasn't clear that their bone-in mighty wings weren't boneless.

2013-08-26 11:19:01 PM
Ain't no thang but a chicken wing.

2013-08-26 11:19:07 PM
They had these when I was in high school around 2001. Same name at least.

awwwwwwwwwwwww  that's so cute! You actually believe them!

Cripes, $2.99 for 3 wings?  Here in Buffalo those things would have to be made of freakin' GOLD to sell that high.

2013-08-26 11:20:05 PM
My friend has been kicking around this idea of starting an Atlanta page featuring the chicken bones that litter this city.  They're everywhere.   I was waiting to get on 85 at Clairmont the other day and there was a whole drumstick in the median.  This makes me wonder, do people eat chicken on the bone in the car, and if so aren't their steering wheels and radio knobs covered in grease?

Ok, now they're just farking us around,

Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: Is there any type of food McDonalds won't royally fark up?

French fries, regular Cheesburger, regular Egg McMuffin....  3.

/only things I've eaten from McDonald's in like ten years

harakiri2k: They had these when I was in high school around 2001. Same name at least.

I remember them in 1993 in Indiana with the same name.  They were pretty lousy wings.

2013-08-26 11:21:49 PM
Because the rest of MacDonald's menu is just scrumptious.

Swoop1809: Why are wings still a thing? Do people not know you can dip any cut of chicken in buffalo sauce?

Because wing meat is really tasty unlike the dry and tasteless white meat abominations that adults afraid of ordering Chicken Nuggets in public call "Boneless Wings"

Why stop at chicken? Broccoli, hind leg of dog, wasp's nest culled from under the eaves - use your imagination!

They should also offer duck and keep the Mighty Wings moniker.  It'll probably be quite gross but I will reserve judgment. Subbs actually try them in Atlanta?

Mission Drift.

Watching Restaurant Impossible, one of the common problems is a sprawling menu that requires the restaurant store piles of slow selling products. So now the burger joints think, in order to get as many customers as possible, they need to sell chicken products. And fish. And not just fries, but sweet potato fries. And six types of dessert.

That was the shock of going into an In-N-Out when they first came here. Like the burger barn next to my old airport, it was just burgers and fries. So they do the best damned burger and fries they can, and surprisingly cheap because they don't have to rake in profits to cover slow products.

2013-08-26 11:29:27 PM
What happens to the rest of the chicken?

2013-08-26 11:30:18 PM
Deciding when McRibs will be available has nothing to do with what McDonalds thinks the customers might want to eat.  It has everything to do with the commodities market; specifically pork belly futures. Don't think for a minute that the timing of McRibs is decided by any other factor other than when pork is cheap.

2013-08-26 11:30:57 PM
The wings will be sold in 3-, 5- and 10-packs, starting at $2.99.

Are they on crack? I thought the point of McDonalds was to be a cheaper alternative to fresh-made food elsewhere.

Alomst any decent pub/bar will at least have a 50cent price point, and often with a special night, like 25c each on wedesdays or something. And thats going to be double-fried to order and with a choice of a dozen sauces.

But a buck a wing for reheated generic crap? no thanks.

Actually, the wings are all that's left after the Republicans fark that chicken.

That seems kind of expensive since the last time I was in the US (just a few weeks ago) you could get 20 chicken nuggets for $5.

Anybody have a good wings recipe they'd be willing to share?

Yeah, I've always thought if I ran McDonald's I'd cut 1/3rd of the items off the menu on day 1.  Focus on the burgers and fries, if they're good people will keep coming back.

A McDonald's is within five blocks of my house, a pleasant walk through a residential area.

Too bad I don't eat at McDonalds.

If I want it sleazy and greasy if you pleasy, I'll go to Jack's.

They sucked the first time!

Still can. Of course, the "meat" used in McNuggets is entirely different than actual wings.

A buck a wing -IS- horribly overpriced though.

Bars (and other places) sell some things below the regular price-point to keep people around for other things (booze.) Unless McDonalds starts serving shots and beer instead of just food I don't find it that crazy.

This is surely the secret to Five Guy's success breaking into the fast food burger market, which I would have assumed to be a very difficult nut to crack.

We have burgers, with any topping you like, and we have fries. If you are some kind of malcontent, you can have a hot dog.
