Belief in progress isn't the problem.

The understanding the progressthat is  perfectly achievable is being held back by a distinct minority of hyper-sensitive, ignorant yokels who scream and yowl at anything their imaginary sky-wizard might get imaginary mad at, who think any way but their way is the wrong way, is the problem.
