Damn you, subby!  I nearly choked on my coffee.

Yeah, that's the problem.

if by smart you mean austistic, maybe

Have you ever wondered why Republican presidential candidates seem to be far more knowledgeable about the pressing issues facing the nation whilst armed with specific, detailed plans to solve the problems that confront us, but still fail miserably come election time?

Wow.

No.

Okay, we're done here. On to the next thread!

I'm not sure that Republicans are too smart for their own good. The problem is that Democrats are so dumb the Republicans just seem smart. I mean seriously, what kind of idiot thinks you can add 30,000,000 people to healthcare and reduce cost.

Don't even get me started on how badly the libs have screwed up the economy.

2013-08-26 08:39:54 AM
I don't think I've ever seen the words "Too smart" and "Republicans" in the same sentence before.

You mean like the candidates that have three agencies they want to close, but can only remember what two of them are without cue-cards?

That kind of "knowledgeable" and "armed with specific, detailed plans"?

2013-08-26 08:41:34 AM
Right.  And I get laid too much.

Stupid people think they're smart. Telling stupid people how smart they are brings in big bucks. So what's new?

2013-08-26 08:47:51 AM
The obvious solution would be for the Republicans to field someone too dumb to know the difference between their ass and a hole in the ground as their next candidate for president.

Isn't there some sort of rule about headlines that ask a question? Betteridge's Law?

My problem is that I'm so attractive that women think I'm unattainable. I mean, in theory I could have any girl I want, but every girl I talk to knows this and assumes that I'm only talking to her because the supermodels I should be dating are temporarily unavailable. It's kind of rough.

Dunno, maybe the kind who understands that insurance works best when you have a larger pool of participants paying in? Even if those payments are smaller individually and, uh, there's a larger proportion of healthy participants? And, er, with more participants early detection and prevention of illnesses are more common? I'm just spitballing here.

They did that in 2000, and it actually worked.

So the GOP's self-evaluation after two presidential election failures is:

1. We're not conservative enough
2. We're too smart

I love how the article about intellectual analysis is neither.

2013-08-26 08:52:45 AM
"The point is Republicans have chosen astonishingly bad salesmen of late, and are therefore making it easy for Democrats who at this moment are unquestionably far better salesmen.

Assuming they'll be facing Hillary Clinton in 2016, Republicans need a young, inspirational, well-spoken man or woman who speaks to the dreams of the nation in a way she can't.

If the GOP puts forth another aging intellectual talking features and benefits, said candidate will end up doing his or her critical thinking in a house likely not colored white."

So they are just bad at communicating their message. Go farther right! And don't call them racists.

I think the editorial discussion at American Thinker went like this.

"I'm going to write a thing about how Republicans are too smart."
"Yeah, we're way smarter than those Democrats.
"Those Ivy league elitists with their college degrees."
"Those idiots think climate change is real! And Evolution!'
"Stupid college-educated morons. They think they're so smart."
"I know, who needs that? We don't need that."
"Yeah."
"... so I'm going to do the thing on how Smart republicans are."
"Good idea."

I think it's because Benghazi as a scandal isn't hyped enough.  If more people recognized how scandalous that scandal is, everyone would be a Republican.  Except brown people, and they're going to vote for Obama no matter what.

On one of this weeks Herp Derp Sunday shows he said that Republican racism was okay because of the way Democrats treated Bush.  He needs to take his own farking advice.
