I love the Cannell one, the MTM cat, and of course Ubu.

And although there isn't much to it, the "Mmmm... Magic" one from the end of Ugly Americans is a personal favorite, mostly because I really enjoy that voice actor's work.

you see a big animation of a studio or producer or distributer  and then the next screen is the text version of the exact same thing you just saw....  why both why???

It appears the stories behind the logos are far less interesting than the logos themselves.

Yep, came to post that one.  It's the granddaddy of them all.

I suspect the author is early to mid-thirties based on his selection of shows.

The film-verite "Ten Thirteen" and the VO "I made this!" was essential to the end of every X-Files.

Does anyone remember one with a black and white video of a suspension bridge shaking in an earth quake?  I seem to remember one from a while back (it might have been a kids show, it was so long ago), but I have never been able to remember what show it was, and can't find whenever I look.

That's the bridge, alright.  Around 2:15 to 2:30 in that video is what I remember, but I don't remember what I saw it in.  I can't help thinking it was after the ending credits to something I used to watch (or the show just before something I used to watch, hence me catching the ending bit repeeatedly).  Maybe, the beggining credits or something.  I think I watched whatever it was around the time when Buffy was still on.

I didn't have Adult Swim back then, but it could have been Comedy Central (or it's Canadian Counterpart) or some anime or something.  Might even have been while I was living in England, so could have been a BBC show too, or if it was earlier, something on YTV, maybe.

At least I'm not the only one who remembers, but can't find it.

I thought the fact that Ubu's picture was taken next to the Louvre and that he was a world-traveling black lab was pretty neat.

They missed the use of Braniff Airlines at the end of "South Park."

Braniff was chased out of business by airline deregulation in the early '80s. When Trey and Matt turned in the pilot for "South Park," they didn't have a production company tag to put on the end of it, so they just pulled a video fragment from an old Braniff commercial and stuck it on. The music is the theme to their earlier project, "Cannibal: The Musical."

It is at least satisfying to know you'll never have to wonder, though, what the stories behind these were. One less thing.

They're just vanity plates. It is still the giant corporate studios that make, and own, the shows.
