Sure, the songs were crap, and it sounds like the lady is singing most of her parts out of her cocaine-ravaged nose, but true, they're playing music in 4/4 time.

Despite what you or I think of Swift, she does write her own songs and plays her own instruments.  If you're gonna insult, know what you are talking about.

Just because you strum on a guitar and write the same breakup song 50 times in a row doesn't mean you're talented.

And, Fleetwood Mac's breakup song played 50 times is different since each one is geared toward different members in the band?

Quality of the musician still counts otherwise farting on a snare drum and having some model autotune sing porn scripts over it  is equal to Bach.

Quality of the music, rather than the musician, I would say. Talented people can make crap, just ask the members of Fleetwood Mac.

I'm sorry, are you a Boomer? Is that why you think that much talent processed into a mellow Cheez Wiz of "rock" music is good?

Right, anyone can make a bad song or album, but the issue here is that even the "good" songs are not good. That's partly the marketing machine of pop music, and partly that what is considered music has been lowered to a point where you don't have to any talent at all. You don't even have to sing anymore to make millions in the music industry.

I'm not saying Fleetwood Mac is good music, but when you compare it to the music now it's almost f*cking opera.

I think the most anyone's going to really get out of this, Swift included, is that she actually used a curse word on camera. Her fanbase is not going to care in the slightest that she was ragging on Styles and at this point expects nothing less.

As for 'quality of the musician'... having gone to her show in Chicago, believe me when I say that 'quality of the musician' is utterly beside the point. Can her voice go reedy sometimes in concert? Yes. Does anyone who bought a ticket give a shiat? No. They're singing along in such large numbers and at such volume, regardless of song (even for the opening acts if the song is recognizable enough), that they sometimes threaten to drown out Swift. The lyrics are what they care about, over and above the sound. Whose opinion matters to Swift? The people who bought her albums and showed up to the concert.

2013-08-26 11:14:26 AM
When Taylor Swift won her award and did the "this is dedicated to the person who inspired the song. You know who you are" whine AGAIN, my better half went on a laugh bender. It was pretty damn funny.

Well, there is your opinion, there there is everyone else. Hmmm....

In 1998, Q placed Rumours at number three-behind The Clash's London Calling and Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon-in its list of 50 Best Albums of the 70s.[96] In 1999, Vibe featured it as one of 100 Essential Albums of the 20th Century.[97] In 2003, VH1 ranked the record at number 16 during its 100 Greatest Albums countdown,[90] while Slant included it as one of 50 Essential Pop Albums.[98] The same year, USA Today placed Rumours at number 23 in its Top 40 Albums list,[99] while Rolling Stone ranked it at number 25 in its special issue of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time", the highest Fleetwood Mac record.[100] In 2006, Time named it in its All-TIME 100 Albums shortlist,[101] while Mojo featured it in its unnumbered list of 70 from the 1970s: Decade's Greatest Albums.[102] The record is included in both The Guardian's "1000 Albums to Hear Before You Die" and the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.[103][104] In the 2013 reissue of the album, Pitchfork Media's Jessica Hopper gave the album a rare 10 out of 10, earning it best new reissue.[105]

There's a reason that there were a lot of sore chests and dry mouths when I got out of Soldier Field, EyeballKid. There was an NFL stadium full of people that had memorized the words to enough of Taylor's songs that they could sing along to an entire 16-song set over the course of two hours, one song of which is changed up every show for the sake of people going to multiple concerts over the course of the tour.

Interesting side note: none of the songs were off her self-titled album. The one that was actually country music.

I'm not much of a lip reader. But looking around, that's about what's being read by people who are. 'Sorry for my arm'. Which would mean the Daily News is just stirring up shiat.
