I never knew Kermit was left-handed.

Made my morning, thanks subby.

mr_a: I never knew Kermit was left-handed.

Nearly all the Muppets are left-handed, as the puppeters use their right-hands to control the mouth, and their left-hands to control the arm rods.

And yes, thanks to Subby for a cool way to start the day.

That looks smaller than an a-scale. You can't get that sound out of that banjo.

I accuse kermit the frog of fakery!

muppets have always been funny. loved them as a kid and love them now.
with their adult humor you catch sometimes. of course i always loved when they do the head shaking thing after they do something. always cracks me up.

"Someday we'll find it The rainbow connection The lovers, the douchebag, and me."

/Best version of that song.

I thought it was going to be this, but I guess there's only one banjo.

The muppets stay in character any time the puppet is on the puppeteer's hand, on-camera or off.  I think that's important.  It gives them a certain...humanity?  Realism?  Whatever.  It shows in the performance.  It's why Kermit is Kermit and not just some green piece of felt.

He's playing righty in that one.  All frogs are amphibidextrous.

Steve Martin was a little outside my age range when he was really big, so I missed that he was a major banjo player until about two years ago when my wife went to the July 4th celebration at the capital. She helped me pick up my jaw.

I'm not a huge banjo fan, but the guy can rock out.

He's been a banjo player since he was a young man.  He used to bring it onstage during his comedy act back in the 70's.  His banjo chops are astonishing.

This and that.  I just saw him last month in Michigan.  Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers were an amazing show.

Sadly, this is true.  I don't care how many years it's been, I've just never quite been able to forgive Jim Henson for not taking better care of himself.  He was the only one who could ever make Kermit sound like Kermit.  <sniffle>

P.S.  Kermie and Steve are amazing banjo players, though.

My all-time favourite Steve Martin banjo song: The Great Remember (live, with a bit of classic SM comedy beforehand)

Works well, because Steve's no longer funny. He left the "I'm a wild and crazy guy" somewhere back in the late 80's. Now he's just an old fart pretending he's enjoying what he's doing.

Thought it was going be something from the Muppet show, nice to see that Steve Martin is still playing.

If you haven't already seen it, rent the movie Shop Girl. It shows off Martin's dramatic acting chops - the man can act.

Remember the Muppet Show?  Back then, everybody who was anybody ended up on the Muppet Show.  And it *WORKED*.  The show was pure genius, and it is sorely missed.

The "wild and crazy guys" skits and Martin's subsequent stand-up show with that character were in the 70's. Oh, and everything else you wrote is also wrong.

Nope. It's spot on. Martin's a has been. He's playing off his past success's but he hasn't had a hit movie in 25 years.
