He can access and has an opinion about the "'People of the Iowa State Fair' Facebook page."

Therefore: fark him.

Oh FFS. I've been to more than a few state and county fairs. These people exist in every state of the union, get the farking sand out of your vagina.

/first "holy shiat" was at the fair held just outside Vacaville, CA. if I went digging I could find the town (~1999). Gal i saw had to weigh as much as the cow they were judging. . .

Bill Bryson:
"..Jack Kerouac, of all people, thought that Iowa women were the prettiest in the country, but I don't think he ever went to Merle Hay Mall on a Saturday. I will say this, however -and it's a strange, strange thing- the teenaged daughters of these fat women are always utterly delectable, as soft and gloriously rounded and naturally fresh-smelling as a basket of fruit. I don't know what it is that happens to them, but it must be awful to marry one of these nubile cuties knowing that there is a time bomb ticking away in her that will at some unknown date make her bloat out into something huge and grotesque, presumably all of a sudden and without much notice, like a self-inflating raft from which the stopper has been abruptly jerked.

-1 subby, there is nothing contradictory about not trying to be offended, and actually being offended.

Just like I try not to be offended by FARK, but the green lighting of your headline offends me.

I wasn't down for a 60 page slide show.  It turned into a car crash I couldn't look away from.  And then I got to slide 25 of 60 with the girl and the poop covered dildo and now I'm planing my vacation to Iowa.
That's where the tall (used) corn grows.

Oh ffs. The Cityview (is that even around anymore?) used to have a several page spread dedicated to similar pictures in its State Fair issues. Now people are upset because of a Facebook page?

No flames here.  In a way you are correct.  Who does this "platform" say more about, those being ridiculed or those doing the ridiculing?  Every time I want to mock someone's appearance, I go look in the mirror and see a 44 year old man wearing a concert t-shirt and jeans like some teenager from the 80's.  Who the fark am I to judge anyone else's appearance?  Mine works for me just like theirs works for them.

People.  Meh.

"why can't those people just stay home?"  as Lilly Tomlins character would say
I am offended by that kind of thinking.
I'm offended by corporations that make crap for people to eat.
I'm offended that some would make fun of others they don't know.
I'm offended that the educational system doesn't teach people to take care of themselves.
I'm offended by legislators that allow worthless food to be made and sold.
I"m offended by a system that allows the heads of regulatory agencies to come directly from the companies they'll be regulating.
I'm offended that innocent humor has disappeared.
I'm offended that it's possible to make fun of someone anonymously.
I'm offended that this is only PART of the problem.

I'm offended that I can't seem to make a whit of difference in any of these issues.

This made me laugh: But of course the governor doesn't control Facebook policy. Hendrickson [a photographer] said he repeatedly has reported People of the Iowa State Fair as offensive and also tried to launch an "Iowa Taxpayers Against Facebook" page on Facebook but was thwarted.

Trying to create an anti-Facebook page on Facebook? As if Mark Zuckerberg believes in allowing freedom of speech to mock his cash cow! You might want to try Myspace! :-D
