At first wondered why link to Breitbart for this, then remembered it is the place to go if you want info based on folklore, not scientific fact.

AirForceVet: RexTalionis: Cold winters usually mean dry winters. Warmer winters mean more precipitation. If it's cold, water isn't going to be evaporating as much as a warmer winter and you're going to have a lot less moisture in the air to coalesce and fall to the ground.

We'll just have to wait and see. What did the Farmer's Almanac say about the West's winter? Anyone?

The Almanac's predictions are bunk. Independent studies say that their predictions are either too vague or not significantly better than random guesses.

ecmoRandomNumbers: I like how the author went full potato in the last paragraph. Nice touch.

Last paragraph? You mean the headline where she assumes global climate change means constantly warming air temperatures all the time?

So, since it is deadmoran.com, is it a safe guess that TFA is using whatever the Farmer's Almanac prints to claim global climate change is nonexistent?

See that little bit of "normal" in the US mid section proves global warming is false. Suck it libs.

The famous Farmer's Almanac is going to damper the mood of many man-made global warming alarmists when the book hits the shelves on Monday. They predict the 2013-2014 winter will be extremely cold.Graaaah!  Climate does not work that way!And you know this!  And you don't care!Graaaaah!

Crewmannumber6: I just saw a woolly worm yesterday that was completely brown. I wondered wht that may mean.

That's nothing, the apples are large this summer (heard that meant a bad winter).

My father-in-law was talking to an old Amish man one day.  The Amish man was lamenting about how he used to be able to predict, with fairly high accuracy I guess, the weather based on the actions of the animals.  He said that since he started getting the newspaper and reading the weather report, he lost that ability.

Slappajo: Well, it still sells for some reason.  When the whole climate change thing doesn't pan out in 100 years, will you still be buying al gore's farmers almanac?

THANK YOU

I can't count how many people think cold = snow, therefore more cold = more snow.

If this summer felt unusually cool for you, you may not like give a sh*t what the Farmers' Almanac has to say about the coming winter

Subby, checking the Farmer's Alamanac for weather predictions is like checking Breitbart for anything: laughably stupid and certain proof of a deep and abiding ignorance.

the topic is about how a publications prediction, that is no better than the flip of a coin, that this winter will be cold, and the writer (and a few people from the comments) still manage to make it a right vs left thing.

amazing
