Mega Steve: Gyrfalcon: I'm convinced now that SyFy Channel peruses Fark and takes all our less ridiculous ideas for their next movie.

Not much chance of them buying my script for "Roachnado versus Coachella", is there?

Needs a natural disaster.

gravespinner: Traditional cockroach medicine. Now taking its place alongside Reiki, Homeopathy, and Acupuncture.

Actually, traditional Chinese medicine uses quite a lot of strange substances.  Quite a bit of it actually works; not necessarily as well as other medicines, but it can be effective.

Like many early medical systems, it uses quite a lot of rationalizations; i.e., this substance helps the liver work better, so it must be strong in the element of Wood (which treats the kidneys).  That may not be quite clear, but it goes something like this - instead of treating the affected organ directly (though that was done as well), you treat the organ before it in the Zang Fu cycle.

KaiserRoll: One million cockroaches means you see about ten of them at any given time.

So cockroaches are ninjas?

I thought ninjas were mammals.

reported: So, cockroaches sell for $180/kg in China?

Cop math. The farmed ones will be worth much less and they probably have to have died of cordyceps or something.

Oh, God.  I just looked it up.  It was 1,000,000 of those gigantic flying roaches.  You know the ones that will fly or walk right up to you with absolutely no fear.  The ones that don't scatter when you turn a light on.  The ones that climb on top of your face in the middle of the night and masturbate while you're sleeping.
