Serena Williams is the best female tennis player ever and she couldn't beat the 100th ranked guy, whoever that is.

And while I'm being a pig, they gave the women equal pay for playing best of 3? Make 'em play 5 so they can learn to puke on the court like Sampras.

A fourth event dubbed a "Battle of the Sexes" took place during the 1998 Australian Openbetween Karsten Braasch and the Williams sisters. Venus and Serena Williams, aged 17 and 16 respectively, had claimed that they could beat any male player ranked below 200, so Braasch, then ranked 203rd, challenged them both. The matches took place on court number 12 in Melbourne Park. Braasch first took on Venus and beat her 6-2. He then played Serena and won 6-1. Braasch said afterwards, "500 and above, no chance". He added that he had played like someone ranked 600th in order to keep the game "fun."--I don't even know why this was supposed to be a big deal. Even if she won fair and square, she was playing against somebody who was already washed up.And knowing he slaughtered the #1 woman in the world already, how could anybody with a brain see this event and not know it was fake.

You mean that was supposed to be real?  Seemed like a stunt at the time, about as real as rasslin'.

Maybe they should get with Frontline and co-produce an in-depth investigation.

Without that one example the Fems are going to have to admit that women can't compete with men on the field of sports. And buy extension law enforcement, fire fighting and warfare.

And the only sports we give a shiat about that they play is beach volleyball.

/otherwise, repeal Title IX and force them back in the kitchen

Even if she makes the Olympics, she won't be able to hack it against a boys' high school team.  Not even if they alter the rules to restrict bodychecking to give the women more of a chance.

MFAWG : This is 'news'? That rumor has been around forever, as in from day one.

Yeah, the only thing that surprises me about this story is that the mob fixed the match. The way it was done it had to be a set up from the get go. The whole event just reeked of show business manipulation, and there was only one way it was going to end. In those days there was a flat out liberal bias to the news, and they were attempting to make King, who was a despicable excuse for a human being, into a feminist hero. This is a woman who had an abortion without telling her husband, but who called in the news media and had it filmed. Her excuse for getting the abortion? "I won't bring a child into the world in a shaky marriage." Well no sh*t your marriage is shaky b*tch, when you pull crap like that.

After this phony match King could do no wrong, they trotted her ugly bull dyke ass out every time they needed a token feminist. Only trouble was she was so obnoxious that most people just turned off the TV when she came on. I know I did.

How old is she? Since girls mature earlier than boys, they can hold their own until puberty hits the boys. Then usually they get destroyed

Only idiots think an old fart of a man is better than a women's tennis player in her prime, let alone one of the greatest women's players.

Just months before the King match, he beat Margaret Court, the #1 women's tennis player in the world, 6-2 and 6-1. He was 55 years old.

"There are no mob people involved with this match," he says. "The mob doesn't even play tennis."

Get out of there, mob. You don't play tennis. You don't even have a racquet.

AliceBToklasLives: Who makes such an argument? I've never heard anyone claim the top woman in the world could beat any elite male. Of course men are physically superior to women. It's science, yo.

It's a bit of a touchy subject with tennis announcers. They'll readily speculate about almost anything, but don't like to speculate what Serena's world ranking would be on the men's side, probably because some of them think it would be really, really low.
It's interesting that this story comes out now, because Conners admitted a few months ago to betting a million bucks on himself when he beat Navratilova (he only got one serve and she could hit into the doubles alleys). Like Riggs, he was a big gambler. This could open up a larger question of how commonplace it is for tennis players to dump matches for money.

The "Fems" are too busy accusing men who ask women out for coffee and men who refill ladies' wine glasses of being serial rapists.

/Oh, and they're also too busy calling Mario a tool of the patriarchy.

AliceBToklasLives: Cause there's no way an elite female tennis player at the height of her career could beat a much older washed up near-elite male tennis player.

Pay attention or read up on the article before you open your mouth.  He destroyed Margaret Court not 2 months earlier, and even at his age he trained 12 hours a day for that match.  When the match with King was set up, he did nothing but postulate and party for 2 months up to the King match, and as video will show, was actively hitting backhands and lobs right back at her instead of the opposite side of the mat.

At least pretend your feminism doesn't breed ignorance once in awhile.

/wasn't alive at the time of the match

I mean they were not even hitting the top of the net.He hacked that sh*t
to the bottom. There was like four instances that they showed.
