I always thought the theme to PBS's History Detectives sounded familiar.

No love for Jools Holland? His piano work on The The's "Uncertain Smile" in mind-blowing.

I remember seeing his first bit on Saturday Night Live, um, Live.  When he did 'Radio, Radio." Afterwards you could tell there was some kind of backstage freak-out happening the rest of the show, but not exactly what. I think his bassist there in that SNL appearance was about 16 at the time. Steve Nieve or however you spell it, is still quite a genius keyboardist.

I've gotten to see EC/Spike/Napoleon Dynamite/Declan live in large and small venues about six times over the years, never disappointed.  Though I favor his early "angry young man" period, I like the large span of genre's he's played with, and have favorites among them all. His vocals are an acquired taste for some, but I really dig them for their raw authenticity of emotion, even as he takes you thru unexpected shifts and side-turns in phrasing. What I really like about him  is what I like about Tom Waits: he's a genius lyricist, and has a distinctive character in his composing, even if you don't care for his voice or vocal style.  He's also so damn prolific, I can't keep up with him.

When he paired up with Sir Paul, the combination gave me chills, because it was as close as we're going to get to another Lennon-McCartney pairing.

Hurk. How he can get his shriveled and wizened 60 year old grosser even semi-hard looking at that face??

Personally, when I'm looking at her, Elvis's penis is the last thing I'm thinking of.
