Trocadero: fusillade762: Dalek Caan's doomed mistress: Is The World's End showing anywhere but a few art house cinemas in a few select cities?  It's not showing at a single theater within a hundred miles of me and I actually want to see it, weak or not.

/I might end up having to catch it on DVD just because it has such a small release

Strange. 1,400 theaters is a small release?

According to Box Office Mojo, The World's End is getting the widest release of any of the three films, hitting about three times as many theaters as Shaun of the Dead did in 2004 (and three hundred more than 2007's Hot Fuzz).

And still more than 1k less than the other movies that came out this week.

It's a low budget British comedy. They weren't going to print up copies to play in empty theaters in Spare Toe, Alabama.

The movie isn't called the Butler.

It's Oprah Winfrey's Swiss Handbag and the Butler, dammit!

Jizz Master Zero: Hey, Subby, fark you. Seriously, go fark yourself right in your stupid ear. You're Next was about as much "torture porn" (one of the most overused terms by people who have no idea what they're talking about) as Planes was, not to mention being far from dismal. The fact that it only hit #6 should be a cause of shame for the moviegoing public.

/Seriously wondering if Subby even saw it.
//Doubt it.

You're talking to the Deadline Hollywood subby, who regularly fails at math, reading comprehension, humor, and life.

"Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" were both pretty mediocre. If "World's End" is even worse, then it must suck pretty bad.

They're movies that are made for internet dorks, basically. They aren't very clever, but they hit all the right notes for people that think *they* are clever.
