The part that cracks me up is that he knows the song's correct pronunciation, but he get's Peart's name wrong.

Not if you have Season 1 at home. I've watched it 6 or 7 times. "Diversity Hire" and "Training Day" hold up to repeated viewings really well.

I've got all the seasons, and I'm on my third run through.  I keep looking for new people to watch it with.

Trying to convince my brother-in-law he should start watching Archer. Which episode do I have him watch to get hooked?

I'm partial to Training Day.  It's right at the beginning of the show, so it doesn't rely on any knowledge of the show, and it doesn't spoil anything.

I'm really partial to the one where Cheryl gets kidnapped.  All the character reveals in that episode work pretty well from even the cursory introduction to the characters you get in the episode.

'Okay so she's an annoying office secretary and..whoa, she's a rich heiress?  That's interes...and the fat one is one of those brassy obnoxious office dro...holy shiat she does underground brawling?'  It's a good example of the types of humor in the show, the twists, and the character development.

I'd go with the first episode I saw, season 1's "Mole Hunt". You get a feel for the show's humor, introduction to the characters and the absurdities. Though Krieger is my favorite and he doesn't get played up as much until season 2, I think you have to ease into the character.

Like a gimp suit.

Runner up would be the "Honeypot" episode, if not just to hear Ron Pearlman voice a gay Cuban spy. And a good look at the relationship between Archer and his mother, something pivotal to the show.

Heh, the main reason I don't grammar cop others is that I am frequently guilty of it myself.  Big ol' log in my eye.

However, I am curious as to what causes really dumb errors like that.  Muscle memory (two words end with 's, so I unconsciously put a 's on "gets.")?  Don't know.

If I can't find something to watch, I'll turn on Netflix and watch that episode. It's hilarious, and holds up after repeat viewings

I just went back and watched it again myself, and then watched the last 2 minutes like 4 times in a row and laughed each time.

If he likes arrested development just tell him that Jessica Walter plays the exact same character in Archer except as a New Yorker instead of a Californian and it works even better as a New Yorker.
