You mean the same FBI that protected Whitey Bulger for decades and let him commit murders so they could have him as some kind of important snitch.

That's some fine reporting when they leave out the arguments that the court disagreed with. I wonder what they were and why the journalist is trying to influence us in the same way that the FBI influenced the original jury.

No, no... the other government. The fair and impartial one. The one that people hear about, but can never seem to spot in the wild.

beware of organizations built on the shoulders of power tripping cross dressers who would persecute same in a minute.

Congratulations! You are everything we have come to expect from years of government training.

The same FBI that finds young Muslims, talks them into jihad, convinces them they should blow up something, sells them fake bombs, and then runs to the press patting themselves on the back for stopping terrorism?

I'm shocked.

Although just a three judge panel in this one, the 9th Circuit hands out some really good spankings on occasion.

And donating to the catholic church is supporting pedophiles and their holy war against little boys. So better falsify your tax returns too so the FBI can show up and spank you on behalf of the holy Father.

FTFA: "An Oregon man convicted in a tax fraud case "that was transformed into a trial on terrorism" is entitled to a new trial based on government misconduct, the 9th Circuit ruled Friday."

Humbug. They persecuted this guy for years and took their best shot, so at this point they should stop wasting the taxpayers' money and the court's time and let him go.

Sudo_Make_Me_A_Sandwich: The same FBI that finds young Muslims, talks them into jihad, convinces them they should blow up something, sells them fake bombs, and then runs to the press patting themselves on the back for stopping terrorism?

As I said here before, it would not surprise me if the Tsarnaev brothers were part of such an FBI scheme that ran off the rails. Or maybe (some in?) the FBI wanted an actual terrorist attack to justify all that "cracking down" they've been doing, something like the Haymarket "riot" of 1886.

Remember reading about the "shadowy radical jihadist" who became a very bad influence on them, especially the older brother Tamerlan? Now the FBI is saying Dzhokar confessed that the Tsarnaevs radicalized themselves, and the FBI (and the press) seems to have forgotten all about the Prophet of Boom in earlier reports. And one thing I learned from reading 19th-20th century Russian history is that the Tsarist secret police had a bilateral relationship with the "terrorists" they were supposed to combat: sometimes Okhrana agents would infiltrate the "bad guys" and incite them to (sometimes stupid) acts of violence to justify a crackdown, sometimes a revolutionary or three would join the Okhrana to work as a double agent, and sometimes there were schemers of no particular loyalty who played both sides against the middle for fun and profit.

Nothing I've learned about the FBI has convinced me that that agency is immune to similar schemes, and it might be decades before a no doubt heavily redacted version of the truth of the matter is allowed to leak out: we here are not likely to become informed of the real sequence of events and the reasons for them, and any speculations, including mine here, are likely to be a waste of time and effort.

By the way, nothing about "9/11" requires that some Federal agent(s) did anything to the towers themselves: it could be that the impacts themselves and all that burning jet fuel and other flammable materials were enough by themselves to collapse the buildings. This does not prove that no Federal agent(s) had any part in orchestrating the catastrophe, any more than you'd need the FBI to "doctor" Matchlight charcoal to make it catch fire, because the issue is not so much how the buildings collapsed as why those planes crashed into them in the first place. And while I'm on this, Obama's Kenyan ancestry probably has nothing to do with his fitness as President (or lack thereof), any more than Nixon's parents' Quakerism was responsible for Watergate.

Anyway. Wouldn't it be cute to find out around 2067 that Bin Laden himself was an agent & operative for the American "Okhrana," and that everything about "the War on Terror" for the past 12 years has been one humongous con game? If so, at least they've been able to concentrate on killing lots of foreigners in foreign countries instead of staging multiple effective provocations here in "the Homeland" (though of course they'd need to justify their existence every now & then): perhaps Americans' infamous gullibility and xenophobia ensures that the FBI doesn't have to keep blowing us up over & over.

So perhaps to keep yourselves safe from further (government-staged?) massacres y'all should keep paying taxes, voting for impotent crooks, and swallowing everything the Media tells you about all the bad people the Federal Government is protecting you from. And, of course, write me off as another "conspiracy theorist" loony. These measures might keep the Powers That Be blowing up other sheeple far away. Isn't it better that the rest of the world burn to cinders than that another American office building should ever collapse?
