I'm still waiting for Hank to break bad. They way they set up the cliffhanger, it seems obvious Hank is going to wipe the floor with Jesse and get him to turn on Walt. But we all know how good these writers are at going in a direction other than the obvious. What if Jesse somehow turns the tables?

I think Hank realizes how carefully he must move on this.  He is well aware that he got the job he has now because the old boss was pallin' around with Gus Fring.  So I don't think he's going to take this head on, at least not yet.  He needs more.

Jesse believes he deserves to be punished. Could he plausibly say "I'm Heisenberg" and try to take the rap for all of it? Are there any aspects of "Heisenberg's" known crimes that Jesse couldn't demonstrate full knowledge of?

That's true. Jesse has a knack for demeaning authority figures. Jesse would LOVE IT to have Hank under his thumb.

Jesse " go back to collecting your rocks, old biatch"
Hank " they are not rocks, they are minerals you snot nosed punkHank chokes Jesse to death.

I think Hank is sensitive enough to recognize the opportunity here. I think he's going to play it good cop on Jesse.

That doesn't explain the "Heisenberg" graffiti in Walt's house we see in the flash-forward, which would strongly suggest that the fact that Walt is Heisenberg has become public knowledge.

Or, just throwing this out there, is Jesse smart enough to realize Hank has gone rogue with his investigation? Then figures out a way to lord things over both Walt and Hank, since he pretty much wishes both of them dead?

I don't think the "public knowledge" theory flows all that logically. In the show's present, there's no indication that "Heisenberg" is a household name, a la the Unabomber; it's a name known within the industry and known to a small group within the DEA. I can see the graffiti being the result of a desperate or despondent Jesse or Hank (or Lydia's crowd) going after Walt.

No, I'm Heisenberg!

I think Jesse's primary urge, right now, is for all of this to be over. If Hank offers him an ending, Jesse will take it. The really interesting question is: are these two characters going to recognize that they can work together and both get what they want?

Hank will find out Jesse was cap'n cook and put it all together that the ride along started this.

Doesn't Hank already know he is "Capn Cook", or, at least that he has a car with those plates... I thought he was well aware of the car (back when it was at Tuco's at the shootout, and then Jesse goes "Yeah, somone stole my car").

I don't know that Hank knows Capn Cook was involved with the bust in the first episode tho.

I don't recall seeing the plate at Tucos. Walt might have got Jesse to change it due to Hank going after Cap'n Cook already. Would've been too risky for Walt to allow Jesse to keep the plate.

That would be an impressive twist. Would that lead to Hank committing seppeku for his failure in this and, essentially, creating Heisenberg all by himself?

I think this is the case. Jesse was sent over the edge by Todd's gunning down of the kid. That Walt and Mike agreed to let Todd live showed that this was going far beyond Jesses dream of making meth and money for what he saw was a largely victimless crime.

Jesse still feels guilt. He has blood money. He lost a woman and kid he cared about. Unlike Walt, he sent the ones he cared about away from him. The fact he cares so much about children, shows he's one of the good ones left.

He will have one of the most gut wrenching deaths on the show.

I'm waiting to see what role Todd & his uncle's gang play in this. I'm pretty sure they are the reason future Walt buys that machine gun. Think about it. Tuco ruled with violence and intimidation, but he wasn't the smartest. Gus was as smart as walt but Walt beat him in the end. Todd & his uncle are basically the two combined. In that scene where Saul's henchmen are picking up the Walt's money, one of them says He took out 10 guys in jail in two minutes, and it's probably best not to steal from him.. Walt did not take out 10 guys in 2 minutes. Todd's uncles gang did. They are smart. They are violent. They are ruthless. Hiesenberg didn't kill those witnesses, they did. I think Lydia is going to pay another visit to the carwash. With Todd. & Todd will very politely let Walt know that that they are not asking him to come cook, but requiring it. At least untill Todd can learn to cook to his standards. As for Jesse and Hank, i think Jesse will work with him. With Hank now knowing what Walt has become, i think he'll have some genuine sympathy for Jesse. I just hope Jesse survives.

They're detectives with Albuquerque police, so it's not odd they showed up again, particularly since they already had experience with Jesse.

Anyone got odds on the Jesse/Hank interrogation outcomes?

Jesse flips on Walt - 3:4
Jesse confesses to being Heisenberg - 10:1
Hank loses his shiat - 2:1
Jesse says nothing - 4:1
Hank kills Jesse - 100:1
Jesse kills Hank - 1000:1
Interrogation interrupted by a split to Badger and Skinny Pete trying to get the Star Trek script made - 3:1
Walt kills Hank who kills Jesse - 1:2:1
Jesse calls Hank a biatch, yo - 1/2:1

2013-08-25 08:42:47 PM
I really don't know how the Jesse/Hank thing will go. Jesse doesn't have much reason to defend Walt any more I don't think, but he despises Hank so he may not want to help him for that reason alone. Guess we'll see in a few minutes here.

2013-08-25 08:43:30 PM
Jesse won't flip in the opening scene. But he likely will have by the end of the episode. Also, "Jack's Man" is in this episode, so we'll be seeing some Aryan Brotherhood violence most likely as well. Can't wait.

All I know is back when Walt and junior were watching scarface all the foreshadowing was there. Walt told junior everybody dies in the end

I think Jesse may yet survive.  I think he's going to be kidnapped by Todd and Lydia and forced to cook in the underground meth RV, and given how he's been out of the business, he'll likely have to endure some unpleasantness in order to be made to comply.  I think the M60 is Walt's plan to rescue him.

2013-08-25 08:55:28 PM
I wonder if Jesse may be the one that breaks bad.

I'm re-watching the series, and sure, aside from a bit of meth cooking and dealing, he's the only character who isn't inherently a liar, cheat, or thief. He seems to have genuinely just happened upon the dark side, not willingly gone there.

He cares about others other than  himself... unlike Walt, Skyler, Hank, etc. The episode with the ATM, his love for Jane and the loss, his giving away all the cash, etc.

Should he do something like kill Hank and allow Walt to walk, well, then there's no going back.

It's a bottle episode for me. A bottle of vodak!! Just like every episode!

Jesse is going to confess to being Heisenberg and Hank will keep his mouth shut in order to save his career. Walt dies of cancer and Skylar goes on to be the car wash queen of New Mexico. Thanksgiving dinners are awkward as fark.

The "Fly" episode was a classic bottle episode. It means all staged in one place. They usually do it to save money when they spent too much of their budget on previous episodes.
