The article and the headline have absolutely nothing in common with each other.  It's a brief discussion about how this particular hurricane season is off to an anomalously slow start.  No mention of global warming anywhere in the article.

I don't mean to disappoint the "truly wise".  Please continue with your single-sentence platitudes relying on naive symmetry.

Dear Citizen;

You  willbe carbon-taxed.  This will include taxation based on odometer readings for the year, as well as any methane produced as a byproduct of your business ventures.  Global warming is to carbon taxing as WMDs are to the colonization of the middle east.  Don't fight, don't try to reason, don't ask questions.  Accept the narrative, whichever one it may be, and move on.

Global warming requires that every person in the country collect all their money and take it to the nearest banker, who will happily take it from you and pass it along to corporate friends who will save us, with the help of the United States congreffs.

Maybe if they'd bother to get some repeatable experiments or some predictive models which actually, you know, accurately predict things, we'll believe they're real scientists. Until then, they might as well be dancing around in a clown suit in front of a green-screened weather map on the local news.

Really?  That's the most worrisome thing regarding climate change to you?  A possibility of having to pay higher taxes?

You do understand that the government can tax you however they see fit, if they want to, right?  It's right there in the Constitution  In fact, it's right there in article one.

But what does that have to do with potentially dangerous (or even catastrophic) climate changes?

It's the same argument.  They pretend there's no evidence or predictive capacity for the sake of dismissing the science out-of-hand.  The majority of the climate change denier's arsenal is just re-appropriated from evolution deniers.

One of the things that always amuses me about climate change deniers is their ability to ridicule arguments that nobody is actually making, and  their complete inability to actually engage with the evidence.

(In case you were wondering, this does not make their arguments seem strong.)

I particularly like the arguments of "China's the worst contributor to climate change, so even if we controlled our emissions it wouldn't matter". You know it's a good argument when that one's pulled out, it's usually the last "reason" to not try for a cleaner planet.

Do you think bringing up a washed-up politician who made a movie once actually helps your case? I mean you have so much other evidence ... you have blogs, think-tanks, and pages of long debunked talking points. With an impressive scientific arsenal like that I'd think you'd no longer need to talk about a failed politician from 4 elections ago.

But, then again, since the science is not on your side, maybe that is the best you have.

Maybe instead of brain washing us that global warming has an effect on everything, just pick one side.  So that if that one side happens frequently, maybe you have reliable data to shove in my face.  But when your response is "EVERYTHING IS GLOBAL WARMING", that's why we turn you off and call you an idiot.

Hmm...it's summer outside right now, but it's probably hot because of Global Warming.  I better go mow my global warming with my riding global warming before I get tired from global warming and decide to take a global warming nap.

I could argue I could make a more tangential argument against Climate Change than some hipster shiatbag in his coffee shop.  The only reason it's a cause of the left is they jerk off at night thinking about all the tax money they can blow on meaningless shiat like green buses that cost a million each so the homeless have a bathroom and a druggie can needle up in peace.

Most "deniers" wouldn't have any issue with climate change at all if someone would just wake up one day and finally grow enough IQ up past downs to realize that the earth is going to cycle, and has been cycling for millions of years.  You're not going to change that.  It's all about control.

NASA and Milankovitch Cycles would like a word with you.

Basic physics. Current Milankovitch forcings are both not strong enough and in the wrong direction to explain the warming we've experienced in the last 200 years.

upload.wikimedia.org

Stolen from Wikipedia, since this is basic stuff. Until Anthropogenic forcing overwhelmed it, Milankovitch forcings were trending towards a gradual temperature decline into another glacial maximum.

So, again, you can only make that statement because you're almost entirely ignorant of basic physics and chemistry, and are making your statements based on embracing said ignorance rather than taking the time to find out what scientific inquiry has shown.
