 forced to switch insurance

I worked for a company that had 'insurance' and it was a pathetic joke. I'm guessing those are the kinds of people that will be 'forced to switch'.

You'll also need to switch if your doctor has been committing medicare fraud.

But it's all Obama's fault. We must never place blame on our heavenly job creators for creating those inadequate insurance plans nor must we blame those providers that commit fraud.

So you claim to back up the TRUTH by citing one of the hackiest pundits out there (on either side).  Well, you've convinced me.  When's the next Teabagger get-together?  I need to smash myself on the head with a hammer a few times to get down to their level.

That's your problem, and the problem of Fark LiberalsTM in general.  You're afraid of words.  In the short time I've been here I must have read the meme, "And that's where I stopped reading...", about a hundred times.  Or, "I won't believe it unless it's from a reliable source."  'Reliable', of course, meaning that you can feel safe while reading it.

You guys actually brag about being afraid of words.  I'll read the thinkprogress or dailykos links.  They don't scare me.  But I'm not afraid of my beliefs being challenged.  Ironically, I've noticed that Fark LiberalsTM are fond of calling people 'cowards' or 'bed-wetting cowards'.  Well what kind of bravery do you possess when you are afraid of words?  It's as laughable as it is pathetic.

Hey, Neighborhood, I'm going to pick just one point from the list in the headline and I'm curious about something -- How many years have you been employed at an honest-to-god adult job with benefits 'n stuff, and how many of those years has your insurance provider changed because your employer had to go shopping for something cheaper?

Yeah, I know, anecdotes and all that, but please give me the numbers. In my own experience I think there were 3 years out of the last 20 where I had the same insurance I had the year before, and I'm guessing that's fairly typical.

Whatever comes to pass under Obamacare, I don't think ZOMG YER GONNA HAVE TO CHANGE INSURANCE is a valid talking point if the supposed worst case is the way the world's worked for decades already.

And they have different members with different interests, making a lock-step strategy with all unions in the country counter-productive.

Hence why your attempt to frame them as moving in lock-step is a sign of intellectual weakness.

Here is the exchange calculator, published by the Kaiser Foundation:

http://kff.org/interactive/subsidy-calculator/

Premiums for myself and my husband - both self-employed - will be over $17,000 per year and the out of pocket over $14,000. Not exactly my idea of 'affordable care'.

Good thing we left and are not obliged to participate.
