Life is like sequestration; you never know who's going to get burned.

2013-08-25 12:18:11 AM
This isn't new, the Forest Service runs out of money to fight fires all the time.  It's why states declare national emergencies - to get funds that weren't originally allocated.

Not buying it.

The sequestration plan was the stupidest thing to put in writing. It's a god damned destruction pact, but Congress punishes the American people and property instead of the indecisive.

Wellllll; as written, Obamacare will:

- destroy the 40 hour working week

- raise the cost of insurance

- potentially kick many employees off of existing company provided insurance

- cost millions of jobs

- potentially cripple unions

/ why do you think we keep pushing back implementation? Why do you think unions are backing off on supporting Obamacare?

Its amazing how the government can never, ever under any circumstances ever decrease the amount of money it spends without that decrease being the direct cause of anything bad that might happen.  In the case of sequester, its not even a decrease of actual spending by our government, but a decrease in the amount of growth of spending.  By this point in time the sequester has been blamed for every shortfall in government spending anyone doesn't like.  It is killing babies, robbing old people, setting our houses on fire, destroying our infrastructure, ruining our children's future and destroying our nation's security.  Yet the budget has actually increased spending by 100 Billion dollars from last year to this year even with this supposed cut.

The sequestration put freezes on some very visible government spending. Ask someone who works for or close to the government.

If the Republicans were really interested in avoiding those problems while doing something about people being increasingly unable to afford healthcare then they would work with the President and the Democrats in the Senate to fix the problems, instead of holding 40 masturbatory repeal votes. At the very least, they would give more information about the "replace" portion of "repeal and replace".

/single payer would be the most cost-effective solution to our healthcare problems
//but that's socialism, so we can't have that in good 'ol 'Merica
///nevermind that our government spends more on healthcare per capita than any country with single payer
////even more than the UK, whose entire healthcare system is socialized

Well double of nothing is... carry the nothing... nothing. Hell, they're so worthless that they aren't even used in some places, like Boston, Australia, and England

If it weren't for the government regulating non-government entities out of the fire-fighting monopoly, private interests would have already taken care of the problem.  In fact, the fires probably never would have started in the first place.

I will admit; the GOP has gone all grumpy cat on most of the stuff coming from the White House.

But, that doesn't excuse whoever wrote this tripe. This thing couldn't be better worded to screw over the little guy. Why bother hiring full time? They cost more. They should have incentivized; not penalized. Give 'em a tax break for every full time employee they sign up for the company insurance plan; and they'd beat down people's doors to get them signed up.

/ anyway; we're all screwed; so let's sing the doom song

You know what? They should just stop. 'hey you can't pay for this? Time to go!

I know why it shouldn't happen. I know why it won't happen. But it should to send a message
