A former female sex ed teacher at North Central Charter Essential School in Fitchburg was arraigned in Worcester Superior Court Friday afternoon on charges she raped a 14-year-old male student multiple times.
Rachelle Gendron, 27, of 4 Sheridan St., Fitchburg, was indicted on charges of enticement of a child under 16-years-old and five counts of rape aggravated by age difference, said Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.'s spokesman Timothy J. Connolly. The charges carry a state mandated 10-year sentence.

I don't understand. We're actually reporting these crimes truthfully now?

A graduate of Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., Gendron earned her B.A. in English and studio art (Summa Cum Laude).

Giggity.

Who hires a 22 year old to teach sex ed?  She probably doesn't even know much herself.  I want a wrinkly old lady teaching kids about sex like how I got to learn/ be grossed out by.

I do sort of wonder why an attractive young woman would go for a 16-year-old kid, when she can easily get a (legal) guy just a few years older. Is she just really oversexed, or simply disturbed.

I would indeed.

I'd let her molest me.  Then I'd molest her.  And then she can correct my molestation with some of her own.  Over a period of weeks or months the molesting would be perfected.  Then comes the big test.  A 4 hour grueling molesting marathon test.  It's either pass/fail.

I asked that same question once, and a nice Farker explained it like it was some sort of power trip she wanted over the young lad.  It's a good notion the kid was a virgin, so she was basically the master.

Now since when is Sex Ed a special class that requires a separate teacher? Isn't sex ed really just a segment of your regular jr.high/high school health class typically taught by your health/biology teacher with the occasional guest speaker?

Or worse, when they use names like Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, etc and you're not even sure what country you're in.

This is apparently common enough to deserve a 'teacher sex' tab by now.

no, because the boy in that situation was very likely a most willing participant, making it statutory rape at best.

actually, they need to come up with a better term, because I guarantee you that the boy was not raped in any way, shape or form.

unlawful sexual congress, perhaps.  calling this "rape" cheapens the term and lessens the impact that the word has and is used here simply to be inflammatory.

Same reason male rapists attack their victims, it's a power trip for them. Because she's a woman the power dynamic plays out differently; she gets off on being the dominate one in the relationship, which is something she wouldn't get with someone her own age.

I extremely agree. I don't work in the social services field, but my intuition, after learning over the years that rape is a crime of violence and power, not sex, tells me that this charge is grandstanding on the part of a prosecutor. Actual rape victims should loudly object, IMO.
That being said, 14 is unacceptably young for a teacher to be hittin' on.

By the way, why WAS an English major teaching sex ed?? I think that was the school's first problem.

Laws have not kept up with society. "Rape" used to be unwanted, vaginal penetration by force. "Sodomy" used to be unwanted, anal or oral penetration by force.

These teacher/teenager encounters are silly, and nothing like the above. And if the helicopter parents wouldn't manufacture so much outrage (because they have no clue their 15 yo is already screwing half of the high school), maybe we wouldn't have to ruin the lives of these young teachers that provided a little extra education.

And for those of you that chime in every day how its hawt when women do it but men get their balls shot off - I think that if its consensual, neither the female nor male teacher should be ruined (fired, maybe, but no felony).

Is it really gonna scar the teenager for life...really people?
