Oops, this is Total FARK, let me start that count down over.

The guy hit .168/.273/.313 the season prior to this card coming out. He didn't deserve a good '96 card.

This magnificent card holds a special place in my heart, as '82 was my first year collecting baseball cards, and I had this one.  1982's color schemes were just...funny.  3/4 of the teams just had random colors or "sorta close for 1982" colors for their stripes.

\and yes, those '82 Fleer cards were pretty damned lame
\\only the '63 Fleer are worse
\\\yes, I have one, as I have all of Yaz's original run cards

Nothing To See Here: Billy Ripken card coming in 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

Came here for this.

Just bought ten of those cards last month. Some with the words, some blacked out. Still don't know which ones are more valuable.

Give it a few years, it'll be worth a couple grand and there will only be half a dozen left in existence.

Bastige!  (I have the Topps one, but don't think I have that year of Fleer.)

As for TFA, yes, the airbrushed "changed their team at the last minute" hats are horrible.  What's worse is, even for someone like Yaz, they recycled pics (in Yaz's case, 1960/61, 1963/64 and 1968/69 are all repeated pics).  But those 60s & 70s cards in general were just... bland.

I farking wish.  At one point, the 1991 Donruss Elite Series Jose Canseco card's value was in the four or five digit range.  Currently I can get one on ebay for...four or five BUCKS.  Yes, I still have mine.  No, I'm not bothering to sell it, no farking point.

Little known fact: the biggest Yaz's mutton chops appeared was actually in 1974.  They were that long for three years (including Milhouse's '73 card), but they were just thicker on the '74 one.

Know the author and his sources mention this, but pretty much everything made from 1994 to 1997 and pretty much anything made for Paficic can be included in that running.  And yes, there were some absolutely god damn dreadful designs coming out of the eighties, but the period following the strike is home to just about every garish, remorseless trend that can be accused of destroying baseball cards: Chrome, refractors, game-worn cards.  Some of them actually looked good, but particularly with the game worn inserts, the companies started stepping over each other to the point where the cards stopped being classy and ended up watering down the entire market to the point where Topps had a "baseball card" that featured material from the Berlin Wall.

Read his book Temporary Insanity. A book about his life in baseball. It is very funny. Who can forget his appearance in "The Naked Gun."

I purged much of my collection a few years back, so the stupidest stuff probably got sent off because it was worth jack shiat, but here's the worst (or perhaps best worst) baseball card I have.

Since you guys are fans, I heartily recommend "The Gat American Baseball Card Flipping Trading and Bubblegum Book" by Brendon Boyd and Fred Harris.  Out of print now, but easily found in online used bookstores.  It's mostly '50s era stuff, but ansolutley hysterical.  (They rip on the Gus Zernial card pretty hard.)  Totally worth it.
