Well, it was Calgary.

It's not so much a country as it's america's hat. So I got to give "Ted" a point on this.

Let him run. The things he does and says do more to disqualify him for our nation's highest office than where he was born.

We get it, he's white.

Mitch Taylor's Bro: Let him run. The things he does and says do more to disqualify him for our nation's highest office than where he was born.

I just want to see the bloody fallout in the Republican primary if he does run. Sounds fun!

It's almost as if the 'foreign' thing isn't about geography at all.

And with people like the one quoted in the article, I think mine might be more on point.

"As far as I'm concerned, Canada is not really foreign soil."

Willfully stupid thinking. Surprise, surprise.

2013-08-23 06:39:18 PM
I'm starting to think these tea party folks have a double-standard when it comes to the whole issue of foreign birth.  I'm not sure if it's just politics as usual or if race is playing into it too, but I really hope it's just the former.

2013-08-23 06:40:20 PM
When you go to a Tea Bagger rally you don't have to look very hard to find an idiot. Much more challenging to find someone who isn't an idiot at one of those events.

2013-08-23 06:40:50 PM
You can bet your ass if Obama had born in Canada she'd consider it foreign.

2013-08-23 06:40:54 PM
Who's this Ted Cruz that this nitwit speaks of?

She's not talking about Raphael Edward Cruz, is she?

Nevermind where the Kenyan Obama was born. Why would Americans elect someone with a Muslim name? It's like electing a president named Hermann Adolf Himler during World War 2.

OK, I'm chuckling as much as the next guy but it still needs to be said: As a Canadian I most sincerely assure you we are sovereign foreign soil. Not that we aren't good friends!

I think Cruz and the rest of the Teabaggers are morons, but my understanding is that Cruz received U.S. citizenship at birth.  He did not have to apply for it later.  IMHO, I think this qualifies as a "natural-born citizen".

Your argument is bad and you should feel bad.

Also: "Hussain" isn't Muslim as much as it is Arabic.

No, the other way is better.

See, a hat can make someone look cool, or more sophisticated, or just generally add to their character. That's what Canada does for North America: it adds character. But sometimes, it doesn't matter how nice the hat is, the person wearing it may still be retarded. Hat or no, the person is still stands on their own.

If we go the other way, then it means that the US is just the place to hold Canada's farts and genitals. While that may seem accurate, let's look at it when the underpants are missing: it says that Canada is either acting slutty or just disgusting. Either way, missing underpants says something about Canada. And do you really want something said about Canada by removing the US?

Cruz recently released his Canadian birth certificate to , proving that he was born Canada but has an American mother, just as Obama had.
Tea Party Republicans have not accused Cruz of photoshopping a fake birth certificate as they have done with Obama for years.

Is it just me or is this article very poorly written?

Word, I left Texas to escape crazy over a decade ago, now the infection has spread. Now I live in Seattle and daydream about crossing the border into Vancouver permanently.

Similar to John McCain being born in Panama. You're a natural born citizen if you were never not an American citizen.
