Coincidentally, it's the reincarnation of blues great Blind Puppy Dan.

It's Texas; they care more for puppies there than they do for minorities.

Thursday, Dr. Lynsey Wagner at Eye Care for Animals in North Austin performed free surgery to remove Danny's cataracts and just minutes after the sight-saving procedure, Danny was already alert and ready to play.

"We can save him. We have the technology..."

Whenevr I hear people getting on a rant and saying things like "What makes people so great?" or "Humans suck!" or some other insult, there will always be stories like this that reinforce how good and caring people are (not 'can be' - are).

One of our Shih Tzus is blind as a bat from cataracts.  He's also 13 or 14 years old and is beginning to display symptoms of canine Alzheimers.  To me he's alternately a source of amusement when he runs into furniture or walks off docks into lakes, and a source of irritation when he decides he has to protect my wife from any and all living beings, including me, with his life, turning into a Tasmanian Devil to do so.

/he rarely eats, lives on air like spanish moss
//also yells at clouds
///really
////yells at satellite dishes too

We have one that is very much like that. Partially because of the cataracts the rest from entropian she had before we got her (and the idiot let get to far before getting it looked at).

Very much in the mid-late Alzheimers stages. she doesnt do any of the stuff you described, she will jsut walk around and stare at walls, sleep sitting up, roam around like she is looking for ... nothing.

She is way too old for a Shar-pei.

/still eats well, a bit goofy (bobs her head around the bowl) but well

It's been a long day, I read that as "Sturgeons save 4-month-old puppy from blindness".  And I thought, "How fishy".

I work at a vet hospital and we board dogs, had one blind one that liked to join in when everyone else was barking. Poor guy would stand in his kennel backwards and bark at the wall, but at least he could feel like he was joining in!

Indeed.

It's really too bad. German Shepards are smart enough to work retail. As long as they didn't need to make change.

I had a Jack Russell that went blind as a result of diabetes.  Didn't slow the farker down one bit.  He knew the layout of the house and yard, and unless something changed didn't often run into things.

What have you done for minorities in the past 2 weeks?  Nothing?  K...stfu then.  Completely irrelevant point strewn into a feel good story because you're a bitter PoS.

Pop quiz:

1)  If I found a _______________ wandering around the grocery store, I would take it home and let it stay in my house overnight.

   A - puppy
   B - minority

Please choose your answer.

A cousin had a Dachshund that went bad late in life.  Managed to get around pretty well.

Before going blind, his favorite game was "roll the tennis ball".  You'd roll it to him, he'd use that long Dachshund snout to whip it right back at you.  Deadly accurate with that nose.

Our puppy  is a minority. We call him our cute little attractive and successful canine-American.
