"Ansari"?  Really?

-1, and may God have mercy on your soul

That was a quality pun. It was definitely worth a -1.

You know when you text someone you're romantically interested in and you don't hear anything back and then you see them post a photo of a pizza on Instagram?

I am apparently too old to understand why this is an issue, I mean apart from the fact that posting a picture of your pizza is just mind-numbingly inane.

I know some people like to hate on Aziz, but I saw him do a standup show last year and he was a riot.

Ask someone to meet you for a coffee. When they offer to pick up the tab, say "Thanks for the coffee, sh*thead!" and leave!

This. Saw some of his standup specials on Comedy Central - thought they were hilarious.

/don't watch Parks & Rec
//always thought Ansari was one of Fark's favorites, though

I love his stand-up and I'm sure the book will be hilarious as well.

I just started watching Parks & Rec on Netflix, thinking I wouldn't like it because I generally don't go for today's primetime sitcom, but it is actually quite hilarious and Ansari does a great job with his character.

His standup is good too.

His standup concert on Netflix made me weep.  He was unfunny and lame.  So was Nick Kroll's garbage of a concert.

Now Bill Burr--that guy knows how to tell jokes.

And all three of them are great as actors.  Park & Rec, The League, and Breaking Bad--good shiat from all of 'em.

That's the point.  There is a ton of needlessly inane social "churn" happening moment to moment.  There seems to be an order of magnitude of more "vectors of approach" to interacting with potential partners than a generation ago.  Coupled with everyone being "friends" and dating being even more unstructured with hookup culture meeting snowflakes, todays dating scene for 20 somethings can be entirely unsatisfying to a segment of the population.

Which is idiotic.  You think with the technology of today it would be a 24/7 orgy, not grim paranoia and hyper-self-awareness about your online "persona."

Of course YMMV.  I've left the dating scene for the land of no BJs, but I've got other late-20s friends who feel like everyone's just given up making an effort at dating.

I agree, and I even love Kroll Show. I just can't stand his stand up. (Same with Ansari) (But Bill Burr is great)

I saw Bill Burr live in Austin a few months ago.  Dude was hilarious, but easily distracted by audience members.  He went off on two people during the show...one guy for having a camera and one for being really drunk and blurting out nonsense.  I don't think that anger is an act.

Oh it's not an act. Just watch this from Philly several years back. It's hilarious.

Your Average Witty Fark User: Ansari's standup is hilarious. fark you if you disagree.

That was a well-thought and cogent argument.  Thank you for making see the error of my ways with such scintillating eloquence.
