Necrophilia? Fine.

Homosexuality? FECK OFF WANKER.

2013-08-22 05:53:24 PM
Come on Cedar Fair, you're better than this.

2013-08-22 05:54:11 PM
So Obamacare is going to force me to gay marry a ZOMBIE now?

2013-08-22 05:54:53 PM
"We cannot legally have weddings here unless they are male/female couples," he wrote. "It's currently the law in Ohio, and we aren't going to deviate from that. It's their law, not ours. If it were legal in Ohio, of course we'd allow same-sex submissions. Nobody here is trying to discriminate against anyone or any guest. This is an issue that needs to be taken up with government, not Cedar Point."

You can have a wedding to gay marry your dead cat and it is perfectly legal. What you and your cat can't do is get a marriage certificate. The wedding has dick all to do with anything.

2013-08-22 05:55:34 PM
Another thing to blame on the gays.

Well...

There's no law against holding a gay wedding ceremony. What a bunch of farking spineless liars.

2013-08-22 05:59:59 PM
It's not Cedar Fair not being fair (get it... Wink, wink, nudge, nudge)... It's state law in Ohio. The bigots here are the gay/lesbian's protesting and making something out of nothing.

/I swear I'm not a bigot

Here we go. Skipped the slippery slope altogether and went right down the abyss.

I'm a former Columbus resident who went to a Unitarian Universalist Church there from time to time.  They would be quite shocked to learn that all of the same-sex marriages that they officiated over were against the law.

Yep... the government is going to be farking you in the ass long after you're dead

It could be worse. At least they're not Detroit.

Some dipshiat state legislator wanted to arrest people who officiated at gay weddings.  I don't think it was Ohio but people are trying it.

So they can't be legally married, who cares. Let them have their fun.

/Cedar Point...more like Intolerance Point, am I right?

2013-08-22 06:08:06 PM
I read about this yesterday in another local paper yesterday.  (Akron Beacon Journal.)  I came here to post a link to the (godawful) comments, but the ABJ deleted them.  They always do that when the nasty nasty commenters come out.  It's like Fark, but without any of the class.  :-/

I once got stuck on the Wooden Mine roller coaster.
Who hasn't? (That have been to Cedar Point at least three times)?\

2013-08-22 06:14:00 PM
What the hell.  Why not just lie and say, "Oh sorry!  We had a ton of interest and already have our 13 couples!  Maybe next year!"

Not saying that's the right thing to do, just that it would have saved a lot of press....

2013-08-22 06:15:39 PM
If they wanted to be complete assholes to the couple, they'd force them to say their vows on Mean Streak.

"I, SONOFAB*TCH, take thee OW MOTHERF*CKER..."

2013-08-22 06:24:51 PM
Yes, let's all get pissy about the park saying no, and ignore the real problem... The gay zombies are trying to buttsex in our nation's parks.

/blame Ohio for their stupidity, not the park for its spinelessness.

2013-08-22 06:25:11 PM
Just took my kids 3 weeks ago. My 7 yr old rode the Gemini. It was her first coaster. I was proud. / Go get married somewhere else//quit being dramatic attention whores

2013-08-22 06:43:49 PM
If not for Cedar Point, you could blast Ohio to the darkest part of the universe and nobody would miss it.

2013-08-22 06:50:12 PM
Let me see if I have this right.  Cedar Point doesn't want to ruin the sanctity of traditional marriage so they won' allow gays to participate in their weddings....that take place in an amusement park....officiated by zombies. It certainly sounds like it would cheapen the experience for the non-gays.

2013-08-22 06:56:41 PM
People, please. Let's be reasonable here. The gays buy admission tickets like everyone else. The zombies, well, who do you think populates their haunted house? Clearly Cedar Point is objecting to the failed and outmoded institution of marriage.

2013-08-22 07:06:14 PM
The amount of mean-spirited idiocy in the comments section is pretty disheartening.

NO.  They won't do it because they provide marriage certificates.  The STATE OF OHIO will not provide one to a gay couple, so ceadar point can't provide it by proxy.  They simply don't want to pay for those to to stay at a hotel, and stay in the park if the STATE OF OHIO will not allow them to get married.

Yeah...because nobody's ever heard of it and there aren't longer lines than normal.

No, and you didn't read the article apparently. They also allow already married couples to participate as a sort of "commitment ceremony" thing. The gay couple asked to participate as such, which violates nothing whatsoever. Cedar Point pussed out and cancelled the whole event rather than risk making bigots upset at seeing someone happy in a way that doesn't conform to their religious beliefs at the event.

Yeah that's why. Couldn't have anything to do with the gay couple going on several websites telling people to contact park management about it. Nope, they did it because they didn't want to offend the religious beliefs of bigots. See how stupid your comment sounds now?

Well, you and Maktaka are certainly entitled to your opinions about why the park chose to cancel this event, but if I were inundated with calls and emails regarding the rights of this couple to marry (in a state where the law states it's illegal) I would cancel the damn thing too. Take it to the courthouse sweethearts.

Every time a gay couple rides a roller coaster, God kills a baby. Cedar Point is just rightly looking out for the babies.

/sarcasm

The real question is: are gay zombies more interested in cock or brains?

2013-08-22 10:31:42 PM
The thing is... they could gay marry them in Ohio even if it's not legal. There is nothing nada zip zero khong nyet nothing illegal about gay marrying them in Ohio. It just wouldn't be legally binding. It would be no more illegal than selling someone the moon.

Or we can simply use our knowledge of the situation and realize that they are full of shiat.

There are many churches who perform same sex marriage ceremonies in Ohio and in many other states where those unions are not recognized by the state, but the ceremony it's perfectly legal to have.

You know what else is perfectly legal even though states don't issue licenses for them? The renewal of wedding vows. You know, like the amusement park said they would be doing.
