So heavy that it needs lightening.

caddisfly: So heavy that it needs lightening.

There's that word again. "Heavy." Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?

Why would lightening make things heavy?

Lightening needs lightening by one letter to become lightning.

As someone who went back in time to make out with my mother, I got a kick out of this headline.
Oops I meant to say as someone who distinctly remembers drinking Pepsi-Free in the 80's.  Stupid delete button doesn't work, though.  Oh well, may as well post the whole thing now.

Stupid fiberglass tube enclosed antennas.... useless once hit by lightning. If they had a good metal, DC grounded antenna with the right shunting, they wouldn't be having these problems.... ;)

I find that offensive! I am from Appalachia and I have 6 good teeth! Although, one of them is a bit loose, but that's not the point!

Copper-pipe J-pole antennas are *GREAT* for that.  You can make a nice low resistance path to ground.

No, but Andrew Dice Clay is going to win a best supporting actor Academy Award for being in a Woody Allen film.

I'm from WV and it took a girlfriend from upstate NY to explain to me that lightning is pronounced lightening.

Yes! Why is that fellow wearing a life preserver?

it's from Back to the Future

A teenager is accidentally sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his friend, Dr. Emmett Brown, and must make sure his high-school-age parents unite in order to save his own existence.

it was pretty popular and funny. it stars Michael J. Fox (Alex Keaton from Family Ties).

as for the 'life preserver',

*SPOILERS* Stop reading if you haven't seen it. *Spoilers*

there's a scene when Michael J. Fox finds himself back in the 1950s, but he's still wearing his 1980s-style clothing (the puffy vest), as he walks into a diner, the clerk behind the counter asks him, "hey kid, what'd you do? jump ship? what's with the life preserver?"

Jump Ship

*End Spoilers*

you should check it out, it's worth the rental.
