Great headline, enough pitches to the face for one day.

Clearly, the pitching community is sending MLB a message about the Dempster suspension.

This kid can't catch a break.  He was a highly rated prospect who's had an array of injuries that have derailed his career to the point that he ended up with the Astros, finally gets to the bigs, and in two days this happens.

Put them all in facemasks. Or at least visors.

Well, Mr. Burns had done it.
The power plant had won it.
With Roger Clemens clucking all the while.
Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile.
While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile...

Subby here.  This poor guy is having a tough go of things this week.  Only his second game in the big leauges, and he gets his face rearranged by a pitch.  The day before, he gets his first major league hit, and then this happens:   http://deadspin.com/astros-player-gets-first-mlb-hit-then-wanders-off - and-1177216982

Yeah that looked like a hidden ball to me when I saw it even though dead spin said it wasn't. Elvis acted like he had the ball the whole time, he tagged him and kept his glove closed acting like he had it as he stumbled away, it looked like Stassi assumed he had the ball.

After he took that pitch to the face I was pretty worried, he pulled the towel off of his nose/eye as he was walking to the dug out and it was full of blood. I definitely feel bad for the guy, I hope both he and the Astros get some success soon.

It was nice to see the Rangers pick up another game on Oakland but I wish it could have been under better circumstances.

Better circumstances? You saying beating the Astros is like bumping uglies?
