(Telegraph)   Sometimes, it seems like New York cabs cost an arm and a leg, but it's really only half that, so quit complaining   (telegraph.co.uk) divider line 20

FTA: One of her legs was severed at the ankle and she suffered injuries to the other.

That's really just the foot.

It's a foot. One of the more annoying amputations because they're better with knee level prosthetics.

"Outside the Green's semi-detached family home in Leicester her distraught father Jason said the family were flying out to New York on Wednesday to be with their daughter."

Just had to put that in there.

Two things:

1. Friggin' cyclists

2. A pizza truck? I want one.

A plumber wearing a belt? REALLY?

They say the accident was in part due to the taxi tried to avoid hitting a cyclist.

How? Why? I mean... I know cyclists are douchebags.

Did the cyclist carelessly get in the way of the taxi and this the taxi had to maneuver around the cyclist to avoid hitting him?

Who is at fault? The taxi, or the cyclist?

Wonder if it was a cycle-messenger.  Do they still have those?

The taxi driver shouldn't have been let go- wtf? I hope she sues him for every penny he's worth- and his cab. I hate cab drivers. I'll take the creepy perverts of the subway any day.

People that cause accidents while swerving to avoid cats, rabbits, or cyclists should have their licenses revoked permanently.

In a Fark thread, the cyclist is ALWAYS at fault.

How else are you supposed to know if you should be A: Sympathetic to a fellow member of the middle class in this horrible accident or B: Tut at the misfortune of a member of the working class who had it coming due to their own lifestyle.

Not true.  They aren't at fault if they were following the rules of the road at the time of the accident.  That's so rare, however.....
