So..I SHOULDN'T stand right next to the target?

Did Stewart really think he would be able to hit a Bullseye with Magneto watching to the side?

Among his most popular tweets are pictures of the actor shopping at an Ikea and another of him eating his very first slice of pizza.

Either he's posting pictures of himself as a child, or he has led a very odd life...

Who the *FARK* uses a release on a *RECURVE*?

I can understand using them on a compound bow, as anyone who needs training wheels to shoot is going to need technological gimcrackery like a multitude of pin sights, a string peep, kisser button, whisker biscuit, and yes, releases in order to actually *HIT* something.

Also, how can an Englishman never have done archery, even as a kid?  It's like the quintessential English weapon of antiquity, and one of the few weapons you can own over there without raising any eyebrows.

Though, hey, congratulations Mr. Stewart.  With some practice, maybe you'll get as good as my son:

OK, let's try that again:

I would've thought he'd stay far away from archery after this incident:

That arrow might as well have had a suction cup on it*

*Stewart's, I mean

What's up with this "Patrick Stewart's First Time" stuff?  It can only end in passive anal.

I love that those guys are pals in real life.

Thats the first thing i thought. I can see why you might use one for the first couple of arrows as it allows you to concentrate on form and not worrying about the release but after a while use a tab.

My first thought too, but with him being decidedly aged, possibly a hand strength issue?

Look carefully at this picture:

The string has a D-loop on it, which you only put on a bow if you are shooting with a release.  I doubt they put it on there just for him.

The Shat, proving once again that he's the most awesome of the Star Trek captains, is using a shooting glove, not a release.

He went to public school. That was taken care of in the first hour of orientation.

That target looks suspiciously unused, also.  Plus, if you look, there are buildings and the like in the line of fire:

This is what my backyard archery range looks like:

Behind that brush is a small ridge, then 22 acres of empty swamp.

It's very awesome! I don't really care about movie stars, but for some reason I get a kick out of seeing them hang out together as friends in real life.
