Nobody jumped at Yor for anything.  Yeesh.

I paid money to see Yor in the theater with my college geek buddies.  It was the main feature after Carnival in Rio.  For some reason we looked forward to it.  Then, we wanted Carnival in Rio back.  I didn't realize it was a cut down of an Italian mini-series though.

The pantera is pretty much my favorite animal.  It's skills and magic are that it doesn't need a penis to be a catman.

Actually, catmen have been neutered for decades now in an effort to help control the anthropomorphic population. The catmen are consoled for the loss of genitalia with a gift of a bejeweled belt.

The whole rappin Rodney thing kind of makes sense when you realize that he was sampled heavily in one of the catchiest and best rap songs of all time Respect by the Real Roxanne.

Which is part of what I think is one of the greatest song cycles in recent musical history The Roxanne Wars.

I used to have a mixed tape with all the songs.  Gorsh I miss my Roxanne Wars cassette.

But apparently it DOES need a belt.

Now, more importantly, why is this list necessary, and why did it get greenlit? I lived through 1983, turned 14 that year, and even I don't see a reson for this to be taking up space on the Interwebs...

Rodney probably smoked as much weed as Snoop and Method Man combined, so I guess a rap album makes sense.

First, it's "Rappin' Rodney", not "Rodney Rappin' ". I have the 45 in my collection.

Second, I also have that Will Powers LP in my collection. Probably listened to it twice. Think I bought it because I liked the music video.

I'll give you the pterodactyl hang glider as incredibly awesome.  But one bit of action doesn't make up for the big reveal at the end.

The problem with movies back then is you didn't have the internet to tell you if a particular movie sucked or not.  None of the TV media was going to give you the straight scoop on how bad a movie was. They were just going to give you the trailer and a short blurb.  You might get a magazine that would tell it like it was, but by then it was too late, you'd been suckered in by the trailer and already ponied up your cash.

I remember the roxanne wars. I was really questioning the statement regarding "Respect" by the real roxanne as catchiest and best rap songs of all time; i would have went with "Gangster Nine" by MC Tee and Lord Tasheem, or maybe "Alice, I want you just for me" by Full Force. Sorry for the imprecision in myresponse.

It's the Beast of the Night!

The blood of your enemies makes you stronger!

Damn talking box!

It's been years since I've seen it, and am surprised how much I can remember, especially considering my state of mind at the time. But how can any film which starts with the hero fighting dinosaurs, and ends with him escaping in a spaceship be bad?

I own this record too, after finding it at a thrift store a while back.  It's not spectacular, but then if you actually bother to read the liner notes, you realize it isn't supposed to be spectacular.  It is the product of a jam session between friends that was never meant to be released.  They decided to release it anyway, because, why not?   It's a bunch of musicians -- a bunch of really good musicians -- who decided to take a break, have some fun, and not try and prove anything.  That's what I hear, and I only wish I could create something half as good when I am trying to prove something.
