This is absolutely true. My own CSB: it started simple. I wanted to a lose a little weight, so I started a calorie deficit, reduced my carbs, gave up soda, hit the treadmill. Then I read about the weight loss benefits of resistance training, and before I knew it, adding a variety of bodyweight exercises to my routine, I'd lost more weight than I'd intended, gone down two sizes, and thought I had better start packing on lean muscle to avoid becoming "skinny fat".

The bodyweight exercises, with my reduced bodyweight, were too easy. I needed weights. As I started seeing results, I started with the protein supplements. A breakfast of whey powder in my oatmeal evolved into oatmeal in my whey powder. Protein powder in my coffee. Protein powder in Greek Yogurt. Protein powder in homemade ice cream. What began with sets of 5 reps turned into 12. I bought a power cage.

I never thought it could happen to me, but now I'm leading a gang of homosexuals across the wasteland, killing settlers for their gasoline. I don't know how to stop. Warn your children before it's too late.

Why is 200 pounds, muscled, weird to you. There are plenty of hulking 300 pounders out there. 200 pounds is pure beta territory.

Current SO is in the 165 lb area.  Tall, thin.  My ex-husband ranged up into 300+ lbs and I dropped his sorry ass one day when he snuck up on me doing dishes and grabbed my ass.  No problem with bigger guys.  In fact, it's a bit weird to be with a tall, thin man when I am short and fat, but...Okay there's no explaining this in this thread, but it is weird and took me the better part of a year to get over it.  I generally prefer larger men and it's an odd shift for me to be with someone so thinly built but I think I can deal with it.

Men.  Please listen even though I am full of hot air most of the time.  Women don't necessarily have the same expectations as you do.  We may love heavy guys, muscley guys, thin guys, whatever.  If you have that winning smile, charm, wit, or the magic touch, we will fall in love with you and keep you.  You don't have to outweigh us, just be nice and respect us and it's all good.  Few women expect an Atlas or Achilles in their bed, and while it's nice, well.  We just don't expect it.  Be fat, be skinny.  Be whatever in between, but confidence is not only sexy on women of all sizes, it is just as sexy on men of all sizes :)

/loved him dearly before but this thread has brought to light that it's ok to be attracted to a skinny guy even with his issues and mine
//Thanks, Fark!

In weightlifting circles the pretty boy bodybuilders are commonly referred to as "bottoms" and the big, fat, hairy powerlifters are referred to as "tops" or "bears".

Carth: 5 miles a day sounds doable even with a family. Even at 8 minute miles that is only 40 minutes of exercise a day.

You gotta stretch.

So call it 50 minutes.

The one thing someone suffering from bigorexia needs to hear from supportive loved ones is that it's not too late.

It's not too late to just walk away, just walk away, just walk away.

How about we just call it what it is? Dedication. They have an ideal and they're going for it. As along as they're not doing anything illegal I say live and let live.
