It's got a clean little cockpit, though.

I noticed that the aircraft is flown by stick... not the wheel acting as a yolk. Wonder what the design issue was that they didn't integrate the ground control and flight control into a single unit. With properly designed wheel pants, the turning ground wheels should have very little impact on aerodynamics at that dinky speed.

A development where the garages and roads are deigned so you can taxi your plane from a nearby runway directly to your home. Sure it's expensive, but any version of a flying car will cost so much that your middle-class ass will not be able to afford one.

Civil aviation - sitting through an hour of deafening noise to eat a bad hamburger at an airport restaurant in the middle of nowhere.  And then doing it again to go home and be $300 poorer.

It has wings! What kind of lame flying car is that? I want VTOL and ducted fans. Or anti-gravity. Whichever comes first.

BTW, if this car is in a road accident, does one have to contact the NTSB? lol

Yes, I want a $300,000 car that I will be scared to leave in the parking lot of any store and afraid that any pothole is a $10,000 repair.

I want a $300,000 car that will cause traffic jams should I try to drive it anywhere.

I want a $300,000 car no car company will insure.

Sounds awesome.

No blind spots. Should be easy to drive.

And what's a minor fender bender in this thing anyways? Certainly I would never be worried about a small fender bender screwing up control surfaces, or breaking my landing gear, or jamming controls.

I'm not even going to worry about kids crawling on the thing when I park it at a store.

This thing will never be driven anywhere except from hangar to runway.

And Terrafugia's real market these days is the military, so if you like the $300K terrafugia, enjoy paying  for the $3,000,000 milspec version.

It has a jettison button on the dash. You strap her to the wing, fly out over a lake, and release. Ta-da!

Judging by the video, it tracks like shiat, nothing but sail area. Probably sucks more as a car than it does as a plane.

They were originally priced at 140k, half the price they're asking for them today. That's a lot of sticker shock to absorb for the people that initially left the10k  deposit to purchase one.
It's a cool little plane, I appreciate all the design work and engineering that went into it, but that's a lot of money for what it is.

Anyone want to meet at Flabob for lunch?

Might be interesting for trailering to the airport.  I could see interesting things with a version that skipped the wheels and went for a flying boat type of hull.  Might be a nice addition to a high end yacht.

Nope.  Wouldn't drive nor fly it.  It looks horrid.

I want a Jetsons style car with the bubble windshield just like the one George flew/drove.  And it needs to make that sound.  Only then will I be happy with a flying car.  Until then, I will drive my Toyota and fantasize about flying cars.  Otherwise, I will accept a jet-pack for use in the warmer months.

/is Cogswell Cogs currently hiring?  I was just laid off from Spacely Sprockets.

I think it is worse than that, planes require all sorts of checks and inspections and certifications. If I recall correctly even a minor bump would require a complete inspection of the craft. You wouldnt be able to park it anywhere or drive it very far without being wealthy enough to have a six pack of them at home.

I think the flying car will remain a pipe dream until they can eliminate wings entirely.

electric motors and batteries haven't caught up, and IC engines have too much of a RPM and torque curve to work like that. The quad coptors work because there is a brain on there making thousands of calculations a second to keep them stable and airborne, the Pilots commands are merely suggestions.

An IC engines and mechanical linkage controls cannot keep up
