A police chief ended up in hospital after eating a cake laced with cannabis meant for his daughter.

Mike Berkemeier said he thought he was going to die after accidentally eating it in Laurelville, Ohio.

That's some killer weed, huh chief?

A school banned triangular flapjacks after a pupil was injured by one in March.
Dinner staff at Castle View school in Canvey Island, Essex were told to cut the treat into squares or rectangles after one was thrown, hitting a boy in the face.

"So the kid was hurt by a food item with three corners.  Let's cut it into a shape with four corners instead."  That's some brilliant reasoning there.

So, you draw from that the idea that they're making more edges, not that they're making FLAPJACKS that can keep an edge?

I always sharpened the edges of my flapjacks before getting into a food fight. Sure it gummed up the sharpening stone, but we had to do it to survive.

Amateurs, when I was in HS, someone found an old Surge commercial, and people put money in a cut open pop can, and we had a "surge" across the lunch room.....teachers did nothing, no one was hurt.

The the Britsh TV show The Prisoner, the epinonimous protagonist was drug addled and conditioned (among other things) to like flapjacks, that he normally loathed, as part of a mindfark to try and make him believe he was not himself, but someone PRETENDING to be himself.

Said flapjacks looked like this:

Marijuana ingestion doesn't hurt you, but it can make you THINK you're going to die.

CSS time:  We had a case like that when I was in the Peace Corps.  Baking marijuana into brownies was so common that you quickly learned to assume any brownie a fellow volunteer offered you had cannabis in it.  Unfortunately, a new batch of volunteers arrived who were unfamiliar with this tradition.  They got invited to a party, ate some brownies, were told after the fact that the brownies had had marijuana in them, freaked out, and ended up calling the medical hotline at 1am claiming they were dying and needed immediate medical rescue.

The really screwed-up part was twofold: first, that they called the official medical hotline, which made it an official issue (they could have called the doctor on her home line and avoided making it an official issue; it was 1am and she was in bed with the phone right next to her).  And second, there were nurses there at the party who knew, or certainly should have known, that the kids who overdosed were in no real medical danger.  They could have, should have, intervened.  Maybe they were too stoned themselves.

But since these new Volunteers had officially gone on record as having ingested marijuana, it turned into a big ol' mess that could have easily been prevented.

I don't think I ever in my life got offered so much weed as in the Peace Corps.

To be fair, the more corners a regular polygon has, the wider each angle is.  A regular triangle has three corners, each 60 degrees, while a square has four corners, each 90 degrees.  If they had only turned the flapjacks into octagons, the corners would be a lot less sharp, and they'd come a lot closer to looking round.

Or maybe hexagons, since they tesselate a lot better than other regular polygons.
