Though it's been renamed to "Frute Brute," presumably to comply with truth-in-labeling laws.

Still... this is a good thing. Perhaps the greatest thing.

Also, we'll all have an opportunity to properly reenact that scene from Pulp Fiction where Eric Stoltz is seen eating Fruit Brute. You hear me, cosplayers? I better see at least one Fruit Brute / Pulp Fiction costume at a convention sometime in the next year.

You need a new hobby.

Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy were before my time, but I do know that the two Berry flavored ones taste positively awful. Hopefully they resemble something more like Fruitloops and less like Booberry.

As far as I know Goofy Grape was the first and only learning disabled fruit to head an advertising campaign.

I'm going to eat Boo Berry every meal for 1 week and chart the color of my poop. Then on to Fruit Brute.

The Boo Berry they sell now (I haven't tried the others) is not the same material they sold in the 70's.  It tastes completely different and wholly unsatisfying.

I haven't eaten any of these kinds of cereals in years but Booberry and Frankenberry are awesome.  Never seen Fruit Brute or Yummy Mummy.  This is reminding me that we should do Lucky Charm treats in addition to rice crispy treats this Christmas.

I'm starting to think that tastebuds change throughout your life like your hearing.  Just like I can no longer hear that mosquito noise, I no longer enjoy Boo Berry like I used to.

So, what's the difference between "Frute Brute" and "Fruity Yummy Mummy"? Both are described as fruity cereal with marshmallows.

very important.

I believe you have developed what is commonly referred to as a "palate".  Or maybe it's the corn syrup in place of a ton of real sugar that ruined it.

And Boo Berry was absolutely the best cereal ever.  Have not had it since the 80's, however, and I'm sure I will be disappointed...but I have not eaten sugar or any refined foods for many years, so there's that also.

The poop results were hilarious.

I only tried the Count Chocula.  It is likewise an entirely different cereal from what it was in the 70s. And it too is awful now.

The crunchy bits are now coated in some sort of sealant - like the one Clark Griswold was developing and talking about in Christmas Vacation.

I actually did retry all of them several years back.  They were freaking disgusting.  I trust my grown up taste than my kid taste.  Kids pretty much eat anything that aren't veggies.

I liked Franken Berry. Just seeing the boxes reminds me of gigantic bowls of cereal in front of the TV on an early Saturday morning.

You finish the cereal, and all that is left is milk and sugar. The good ole days...

Do you get your costume, decorate your house, prepare your party, invite your friends, buy some candy, trick-or-treat, and eat all that candy on one night? The whole process takes me weeks.

Did they give out those rubberized character magnets?  I think I collected MOST of those.  I remember not getting one or two of them and it pissed me off.  I must have eaten several boxes of that stuff.  but for the life of me, I have no clue what it tasted like.

Yeah, I picked up the three available monster cereals last fall, hadn't had them in years. They were fricking horrible. There used to be oats in there, now it is just corn, I think that is the difference.

Yummy Mummy is just Fruit Brute in a different box.

Fruit Brute was my favorite of the GM Monster Cerals as a kid, until they stopped making it.

had the squeak toy and every thing.

A few years ago I bought a box of Boo Berry when I was in the US. It tastes awesome but after years of eating non-kids cereals (like mini wheats and rasin bran) it was surprising how much a bowl of Boo Berry will not fill you up.

Yeah, it was the little fridge magnets that I loved about Freakies. I couldn't remember anything about the cereal at all (except that it was sweet). I looked it up and they were just frosted loops.

But we did have a full set of magnets, and multiples of a few (Snorkledorf and Grumble).

At some point my mom decided to stop buying sweet cereal and then it was just Grape Nuts and Corn Chex after that.

They both came out at different times, I think one was a version of the other.  This bringback revolves around Yummy Mummy is formulated towards a citrus/cream flavor, and Brute leaning to a cherry-style fruit, I mean "Frute" flavor.  So, they are trying to make both co-exist with the rest of the Monster Cereals.

Much as I'd like to tell you to shut your whore mouth, I have to admit that when I got my hands on a box of FrankenBerry a few years ago, it was pretty disappointing and definitely not the cereal I'd loved as a child.
