or maybe there is a lower rate because people with mental disorders don't need illegal drugs to see shiat.

I wonder what the results would be if they had included street ecstacy (not pure mdma)?

'data from the U.S. National health survey'.

there's your first clue, sherlocks.

firstly,  one could argue that many Americans are a bit wacko from the getgo.
secondly,  anyone who believes drug use is harmless has been living in a cave.  just look around at all the alcoholics and the damage its done to our Nation. never mind meth, cocaine, heroin, oxycontin, weedheads, etc. etc.

every drug has negative side effects.  even aspirin can make your stomache bleed.

sure, drugs have their place.  used in precise amounts to counter a specific problem.  and still, there are side effects to deal with.

i love to have a few Vodka tonics a couple times a week, but i'm not naive enough to believe that i wouldn't be better off with no vodka tonics a week.

there's always a risk when you take any drug.  period.   accept it and move on.

First 2 stanzas of Wales Visitation written by Ginsberg while he was on LSD.

White fog lifting & falling on mountain-brow
Trees moving in rivers of wind
The clouds arise
as on a wave, gigantic eddy lifting mist
above teeming ferns exquisitely swayed
along a green crag
glimpsed thru mullioned glass in valley raine-

Bardic, O Self, Visitacione, tell naught
but what seen by one man in a vale in Albion,
of the folk, whose physical sciences end in Ecology,
the wisdom of earthly relations,
of mouths & eyes interknit ten centuries visible
orchards of mind language manifest human,
of the satanic thistle that raises its horned symmetry
flowering above sister grass-daisies' pink tiny
bloomlets angelic as lightbulbs-
 .

Subby, you buried the lead in your enthusiasm for a funky title.

The study found LESS psychological distress and psychiatric drug use among psychedelic users. In other words, LSD, mushrooms and mescaline improve mental health.

This was what they thought might be the case in the 50s and 60s when they first studied psychedelics.

That is not true. A DEA report a few years ago had a report on LSD. The strength of it in the 60's was many times stronger than what is currently available.

A person taking the strongest LSD available today will think that is the best. However if that dose is only 20% of the strength of it 30 years ago, it really isn't. I had some "this is the best ever" about 15 years ago. It was not even the least bit close to Clear Light, Orange Sunshine or Window Pane acid.

My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It's just common sense.

Well sure, you would make that conclusion just walking down the street or going to the store.
