xaks: elguerodiablo: elguerodiablo: Loneman1: For a league supposedly SOOOO into the well being of their players nowadays, this really comes off as far too light of a punishment IMO.

It was a swing and a miss at a guy who deserved it.  If he connected and caused damage then we're in Haynesworth stomp territory.

For perspective Andre Johnson got a $25,000 fine and no suspension for ripping Innegan's helmet off and punching him repeatedly in the head.  They're similar because Innegan is also a dirty biatch who also deserved it.  Humorously he also got a $25,000 fine for getting his ass kicked.

Right, but that was a hard to the head. WAAAAAY different that taking a large blunt object and using it as a bludgeon to go for someone's farking face.

He should be gone a lot longer than useless preseason and a single game check. That's borderline criminal charge territory.

Pro-football players hands are pretty big but your right it doesn't equal a helmet.  But you make the helmets sound like a sledge hammer or bat but they're still just hard plastic thats actually designed to give to absorb energy to soften blows to the head rather than transfer it.  I definitely wouldn't want a 300lb guy hitting me in the face with one but there are much worse things.  It's substantially less harmful than the metal cleats haynesworth stomped into that dudes head.  Plus it was a swing and a miss so were talking intent rather than any actual damage.

Let's not forget why he did that; sorry about the crappy music in the background (I never understand why people think that's cool), but this is the easiest video of Damien Robinson's "tackle" I could find.

The NFL is pissing me off with their inconsistent approach to handling 'safety' matters.  They apparently just fined Jon Bostic 21k for a clean, but hard hit, and did nothing about the Dustin Keller hit.

Oh, I remember, it was epic.
