I wonder how Hannity and his ego are gonna handle being sacrificed for Limbaugh's career?  my read on all these guys is that they're personal ego stroking is more important than their politics.  Limbaugh will gut the ENTIRE stable of conservative pundits to stay on air and is pretty open about that fact.  the other pundits have good reason now to gang up on Rush, and if they don't than he'll take all the money out there as well as all the market share....and given how that market is shrinking and the money is evaporating, the non-limbaugh pundits have to be pretty hard up.

Meh, with less direct competition maybe Rush will calm down a little. Or maybe it'll push him to double down, go full crackpot and just start screaming racial epithets on the air.

I always assumed that's how his last show would go.

Unfortunately, this probably  won't be the last we hear of Hannity.

Sounds like a fun god.  Can you explain its nature, and how we are to appease it?

Cumulus would air the screams of an cancer-stricken orphan being raped to death if it sold advertising and got listeners.
They cancelled Hannity.

It's a really big fan of politics....and the internet.  It also likes stealing the keys off Spam cans at the local supermarket and putting Special K cereal into Frosted Flake boxes and then returning them to the shelf.

Really, any petty thing will work.

And thus the Ouroboros replaced the elephant as the symbol of the Republican party

The Invisible Hand just smacked the taste out of Hannity's mouth.

I wonder if he'll start softening on regulations like anti-monopoly laws.

Mr. Coffee Nerves: Cumulus would air the screams of an cancer-stricken orphan being raped to death if it

goosed Lew Dickey's bonussold advertising and got listeners.

Fixed.

The suits at Cumulus make hosts like Limbaugh and Hannity look like Mister Rogers and Mariano Rivera.

Well he can feel free to loose his parents and contract cancer at any time. It was in his contract, right there in black and white.

It never is with the mole people. They are always watching with those beady little eyes, that remind you of death and destruction.

Hannity just announced his plans to masturbate using the tears of immigrant children as lube while defecating on a picture of Obama's kids, live on air.

Gotta get that street cred back.

I don't agree with Limbaugh on much of anything, but he's tolerable to listen to on a long car ride. He at least stakes out his positions and, right or wrong, you can at least follow his thinking, usually. He can even be entertaining at times- there's a reason he's regarded as a pioneer in the field, and it has nothing to do with his ideology.

Hannity, on the other hand, is just a slimy douche, repeating whatever talking point memo got shoved in front of him this week. His interviews in particular are the absolute worst softball-lobbing sycophantic crap. I literally can't stand the sound of his voice. Rush is smarmy in his own way, but it's a deliberately over-the-top shtick, not like Hannity's holier-than-thou prissiness.

"I predict, right here, right now, that I, Michael Savage and the 'Savage Nation,' is going to take over 'The Sean Hannity Show' time slot by the end of the year," Savage said. "Look, his show is done, and it's sad...I am the heir apparent to afternoon drive on the East Coast and around America on Cumulus stations, which have the most powerful stations in the radio world."

 Poop will eat itself

Ahh, and the cockpunching of Hannity continues.
Today will be a good day.

Conservative talking heads are generally pretty terrible.
But Hannity is such a complete and unpitiable douche.
Watching him fall is like watching a million 80s movie douchebag bullies get their comeuppance all at once.

Savage is back on?  I know he quit due to contract disputes a few years ago and I had not heard of him since.

Republicans are pretty famous for casting off their operatives once they are no longer useful. Hannity is just another one in a long line of water carriers that will be kicked to the curb, just like Katherine Harris, Michael Steel and many others.

I smile at the misfortunes of today's Republicans. Perhaps one day they'll finally kick the Teatards out and regain some of their previous legitimacy. It's going to take years to undo the damage the Teabaggers did, however. Probably at least a generation or two.

I agree, and I don't like him as a person. And I think a lot of the time he doesn't necessarily agree with the positions he's supporting on that particular day. He seems to play devils advocate about half the time.

You had me at "Hannity sacrificed."

Churchill2004: tolerable to listen to on a long car ride

If I had that much time to spend alone with some thoughts I have enough brain cells to create my own, thanks.

Even ignoring the actual idiocy of Limbaugh's idiotic diatribes, I have a fundamental issue with the entire concept of opinion media because it's always going to pander to the lowest, slimiest and least-thinking segment of society. Limbaugh and all the ilk he helped popularize are just shock radio for people with no sense of humor. Base, ignorant people who happily wallow in their own mental filth while honestly believing that it elevates them above everyone else because they're able to repeat somebody else's carefully couched "thoughts" on complicated topics they intentionally make no effort to understand themselves.

The entire concept is just awful.

Michael Savage is a scumbag, sower of hate that should be shot into the sun. He makes Hannity sound like Chompsky.

Yeah, I've read quite a bit on that subject, and Hannity or his people seem to have no defense. Overhead costs sometimes running to 95% and the excuse is that money is to guarantee Hannity's appearances?

He was perfectly happy to broadcast for them and take pay from them for years.

The ad market is shrinking for right wing crank radio and he was simply overvalued. Just bidness, you would think a right winger would understand.

When you squeeze large ticket prices through Freedomworks Concerts (which Hannity partially owns) in order to feed to the FreedomCoalition (ditto) so as to feed the Oliver (What War Crimes?) North foundation and a pittance comes out to benefit veterens out of millions spent by people who thought they were being charitiable...

Yes. That would be trickle-down.

For some strange reason I also want to punch certain people repeatedly in the face for demeaning certain words.
I'd call him a douche-bag, but douche-bags actually are useful to some people.
